Entdeckt die vier Schlüssel für beständige, mächtige, lebensspendende Gespräche mit Gott.

Meine Geschichte…
Ich warf mich hin und her im Bett, unfähig einzuschlafen. Ein Gedanke strömte immer wieder durch meine Gedanken: “Was, wenn Ich heute Nacht sterben würde? Ich bin nicht bereit, in den Himmel zu gehen.” Da ich den Gedanken nicht abschütteln konnte, stand ich auf, ging die Treppe hinunter und wartete auf meine Eltern, bis sie nach Hause kamen von ihrem Meeting. Als sie eintraten, kündigte ich an, dass Ich errettet sein wollte und sie brachten mich geradewegs in das Haus des Pastors, wo er mir den Plan der Erlösung erklärte und mich in das Gebet des Sünders führte. Ich war 15 Jahre alt, als Ich Jesus Christus in Meinem Herzen akzeptierte als meinen Herrn und Erlöser.

Es war die Stimme Gottes, die zu mir sprach in jener Nacht, mich in Sein Königreich rufend. Seine Stimme kam als ein spontaner Gedanke im Innern meines Kopfes. Wie auch immer, ich definierte dies nicht als die primäre Art, wie die Stimme Gottes gehört wird, bis Ich eine verzweifelte 10-jährige Suche abgeschlossen hatte, damit ich Ihn deutlich hören konnte.

Das Christentum ist einzigartig unter den Religionen, denn sie allein bietet eine persönliche Beziehung mit dem Schöpfer an, hier und jetzt beginnend und andauernd durch die Ewigkeit hindurch. Jesus erklärte ‘Das ist aber das ewige Leben, dass sie dich, den allein wahren Gott, und den du gesandt hast, Jesus Christus, kennen.’ (Johannes 17:3) Leider verpassen Viele in der Kirche den grossen Segen der Gemeinschaft mit unserem Herrn, weil wir die Fähigkeit verloren haben, Seine Stimme zu erkennen. Obwohl Johannes 10:27 uns verspricht ‘Meine Schafe hören meine Stimme, und ich kenne sie, und sie folgen mir nach’, zu viele Gläubige sind ausgehungert nach jener innigen Beziehung, welche allein den Wunsch ihrer Herzen befriedigen kann.

Ich war Eines jener Schafe, das nicht in der Lage war, die Stimme meines Hirten zu identifizieren. Ich hungerte nach tieferer, geistiger Intimität mit Gott, aber ich konnte sie nicht finden. Dann, im elften Jahr meines christlichen Lebens hatte ich den spontanen Gedanken, dass ich mir ein Jahr meines Lebens Zeit nehmen sollte und mich darauf fokussieren, die Stimme Gottes zu hören. Ich entschied mich, nach jenem Gedanken zu handeln und ein Jahr hinzugeben, um mich darauf zu konzentrieren, Seine Stimme hören zu lernen. Mir war es damals noch unbekannt, dass es der Herr war, der mich rief, jene Zeit zu investieren.

In jenem Jahr offenbarte Der Herr mir vier einfache Schlüssel, die alle in Habakuk 2:1-2 gefunden werden können, was die Herrlichkeit Seiner Stimme freigab. Die vier Schlüssel nutzend, erlaubten es mir, die Stimme Gottes täglich zu hören. Es war der am Meisten verwandelnde Schritt, den ich in meinem 45jährigen christlichen Leben getätigt habe. Ich würde dies gerne mit euch teilen, damit ihr es auch versuchen könnt und sehen, ob es das Gleiche für euch tun kann.

1. Schlüssel:
Die Stimme Gottes in unserem Herzen klingt oft wie ein Fluss spontaner Gedanken

Habakuk kannte den Klang Gottes, als Er zu ihm sprach. (Habakuk 2:2) Elia beschrieb es als eine ruhige, kleine Stimme (1. Könige 19:12). Ich hatte immer auf eine innere, hörbare Stimme geachtet und Gott spricht manchmal so. Wie auch immer, ich fand heraus, dass die Stimme Gottes meistens als spontane Gedanken oder fliessende Gedanken erscheinen.

Zum Beispiel, seid ihr nicht auch schon der Strasse entlang gefahren und dann kam ein Gedanke, für eine gewisse Person zu beten? Habt ihr nicht geglaubt, dass Gott euch sagte, zu beten? Wie klang die Stimme Gottes? War es eine hörbare Stimme oder war es ein spontaner Gedanke, der eure Gedanken erleuchtete?

Die Erfahrung zeigt, dass Kommunikation auf geistiger Ebene als spontane Gedanken, Eindrücke und Visionen wahrgenommen wird und die Schrift bestätigt dies auf viele Arten. Zum Beispiel, eine Definition von Paga, ein hebräisches Wort für Vermittlung, heisst ‘eine Zufallsbegegnung oder eine zufällige Kreuzung.’ Wenn Gott gewisse Menschen in unsere Herzen legt, tut Er das durch Paga, durch einen zufälligen Gedanken ‘zufällig unsere Gedanken kreuzend. Wir sehen es als Zufallsgedanke, weil wir es nicht selbst hervorgebracht haben, wie auch immer, es ist gezielt, weil Gott es uns gesandt hat.

Deshalb, wenn ihr die Stimme Gottes hören wollt, stimmt euch ein auf zufällige, spontane oder fliessende Gedanken. Selbst Satan’s Gedanken kommen zu uns als spontane Gedanken, aus diesem Grund sind wir angewiesen, ‘jeden Gedanken gefangen zu nehmen’ (2 Korinther 10:5). Ich bin mir sicher, Alle von uns haben spontane böse Gedanken erlebt, die zu uns kommen, selbst in der Mitte eines Gebetes oder in Zeiten der Anbetung angreifend. Nun, ich folgere, dass analytische Gedanken meine Gedanken sind, spontane gute Gedanken kommen von dem Heiligen Geist und spontane böse Gedanken kommen von bösen Geistern.

Die Gedanken Gottes stimmen überein mit der Schrift und mit Seinen verschiedenen Namen wie… Tröster, Berater, Lehrer, Lebensspender, Heiler und Erretter. Seine Gedanken bauen auf, ermahnen und trösten. Sie sind rein, friedlich, sanft, vernünftig, voller Gnade und guter Früchte, unerschütterlich (Jakobus 3:17)

Satan’s Gedanken stimmen überein mit seinen verschiedenen Namen: Ankläger, Gegner, Dieb, der kommt um zu töten, stehlen und zerstören. Seine Gedanken verurteilen und bringen Verzweiflung, Zurückweisung, Furcht, Zweifel, Unglauben und im Allgemeinen Kummer. Satan’s Gedanken bringen Eifersucht und egoistische Ambitionen (Jakobus 3:14-15)

2. Schlüssel:
Stille werden, damit wir den Göttlichen Gedankenfluss wahrnehmen können

Habakuk sagte ‘Ich werde Wache halten…’. Habakuk wusste, um die ruhigen, inneren, spontanen Gedanken von Gott zu hören, muss er sich zuerst an einen ruhigen Ort begeben und seine eigenen Gedanken und Emotionen beruhigen. Psalm 62:5 ermutigt uns, unsere Seelen zum Schweigen zu bringen vor Gott. Da gibt es ein tiefes, inneres Wissen, ein spontaner Fluss in unserem Geist, den Jeder von uns erleben kann, wenn wir unser Fleisch und unsere Gedanken beruhigen. Wenn wir nicht stille sind, werden wir nur unsere eigenen Gedanken wahrnehmen.

Gott durch ein ruhiges Loblied zu lieben ist ein sehr effektiver Weg, um ruhig zu werden. (2 Könige 3:15) Während ich Ihn anbete und innerlich stille werde, öffne ich mich für jenen spontanen Fluss. Wenn Gedanken kommen von Dingen, die ich vergessen habe zu tun, schreibe ich sie nieder, damit ich sie später erledigen kann. Wenn Gedanken von Schuld oder Unwürdigkeit kommen, tue ich gründlich Busse und empfange die Reinigung vom Blut des Lammes und ziehe Sein Gewand der Gerechtigkeit an und sehe mich selbst ohne Flecken vor Gott (Jesaja 61:10 – Kolosser 1:22)

Ein klarer Fokus bereitet den reinsten Fluss, um das reine Wort Gottes zu empfangen und es ist sehr wichtig, dass mein Herz richtig fokussiert ist, während ich stille werde und der intuitive Fluss aus der Vision kommt, die vor den eigenen Augen abläuft. Wenn ich meine Augen auf Jesus fixiere, ist der unmittelbare Fluss rein und kommt von Jesus. Wenn ich jedoch meinen Blick auf meinen Herzenswunsch fixiere, wird der unmittelbare Fluss beeinflusst von jenem Wunsch. Um einen reinen Fluss zu haben, muss man stille werden und die Augen sorgfältig auf Jesus fixieren (Hebräer 12:2)

Noch einmal, den König ruhig anzubeten und aus der Stille zu empfangen, die folgt, vollbringt dies ziemlich einfach. Meine Gebetszeit zu beginnen, wie Jesus es uns gelehrt hat zu beten, ist zielführend: ‘Unser Vater, der im Himmel ist, geheiligt sei Dein Name…’ Jesus lehrte uns, das Gebet zu beginnen, indem wir unsere Augen zum Vater anheben und Ihn anschauen. Wir fangen das Gebet nicht an mit unseren Belangen. Wir beginnen unser Gebet, indem wir Ihn bestaunen!

3. Schlüssel:
Unsere Augen auf Jesus fixieren und Ihn bitten, Visionen zu empfangen

Habakuk sagte ‘Ich werde Wache halten, um zu sehen…’ (Habakuk 2:1-2). Habakuk erwartete eine Vision, während er betete. Seit ich glaube, dass die Bibel dafür da ist, gelebt zu werden, beschloss auch ich, dass ich anfange, mit den Augen meines Herzens in die Geistige Welt zu schauen, um zu sehen, was ich sehen kann.

Tut, was König David tat! Ein guter Weg, damit zu beginnen, ist die Augen eures Herzens zu nutzen, indem ihr tut, was König David tat: “Denn David sagt von Ihm ‘ICH SAH DEN HERRN IMMER IN MEINER GEGENWART; DENN ER IST AN MEINER RECHTEN, DAMIT ICH NICHT WANKE'” (Apostelgeschichte 2:25)

Der ursprüngliche Psalm macht es deutlich, dass dies eine Entscheidung David’s war, nicht eine konstante, übernatürliche Erscheinung: “Ich habe den Herrn laufend vor mich gesetzt und weil Er an meiner Rechten ist, wanke ich nicht.” (Psalm 16:8)

Weil David wusste, dass der Herr immer mit ihm war, beschloss Er, jene Wahrheit in seinem Geist zu sehen mit den Augen seines Herzens während er durch das Leben ging, im Wissen, dass dies seinen Glauben stark halten würde.

Wir sagen ‘Ein Bild sagt mehr als 1000 Worte.’ Ich glaube dies, weil Bilder die Sprache des Herzens sind. Wir stellen fest, dass Jesus laufend Bilder benutzte, während Er lehrte (Matthäus 13:34) Wenn ich Bilder nutze in meiner Gebetszeit, indem ich meine Augen auf Jesus fixiere, spreche ich die Sprache meines Herzens und das bringt mich schnell in die Herz/Geist Realität, was mich über meinen Verstand hinausbringt.

Göttliche Vorstellungskraft nutzend: Also wähle ich, das zu tun, was König David tat und ich entwickle die ‘göttliche Vorstellung’, welche ich definiere als ‘Dinge, die Gott sagt, sind so’. Offensichtlich ist, wenn ich mir vorstelle, dass Jesus NICHT bei mir ist, dass dies wäre, sich eine Lüge vorzustellen, was nicht weise ist.

Ich kann mir keinen Grund vorstellen, warum ich mir unbiblische Dinge vorstellen möchte. Also sehe ich Jesus immer an meiner Rechten. Ich füge das Gebet von Paulus hinzu ‘…dass Gott die Augen meines Herzen erleuchte’ (Epheser 1:17-18). Dann stimme ich mich ein auf den Fluss des Heiligen Geistes und Er erweckt die Szene zum Leben. Ich stelle fest, dass ich aus diesen göttlichen Vorstellungen in eine göttliche Vision treten kann.

Es ist erstaunlich, einfach und kindlich! Natürlich muss es so sein, wie uns gesagt ist, dass wir wie kleine Kinder werden müssen, um ins Königreich einzutreten. Meine 6-jährige Enkelin kann dies tun und sie teilt mit mir ihre Aufzeichnungen und die Visionen von den Engeln, die auf beiden Seiten von ihr stehen und sie beschützen. Ihr werdet feststellen, dass eure kleinen Kinder diese vier Schlüssel einfacher benutzen als wir das können! Versucht es mit ihnen und seht.

Von 1. Mose bis zur Offenbarung gab Gott Träume und Visionen und Er sagte ausdrücklich, dass Er Seinen Geist in den letzten Tagen ausgiessen würde und wir Träume und Visionen sehen würden (Apostelgeschichte 2:17) Wir müssen schauen, wenn wir sehen wollen! Daniel sah eine Vision in seinem Geist und sagte “Ich schaute…und schaue und schaue…” (Dan. 7:2,9,13).

Also musste ich Busse tun, dass ich nicht schaute und dann anfangen, die Augen meines Herzens dem Herrn zu präsentieren und zu schauen. Während ich bete, suche ich nach Jesus und ich beobachte und höre, während Er zu mir spricht, die Dinge machend und sagend, die auf Seinem Herzen sind. Viele Christen werden feststellen, dass wenn sie schauen, sie auch fliessende Bilder sehen werden, in der gleichen Art, wie sie fliessende Gedanken empfangen.

Jesus ist Immanuel, Gott mit uns (Matthäus 1:23). Es ist so einfach wie das. Wir können Christus gegenwärtig sehen, weil Christus gegenwärtig mit uns ist. Die Vision könnte tatsächlich so einfach kommen, dass man versucht sein könnte, sie zurückzuweisen, denkend, dass es nur wir selbst sind. Aber wenn ihr beharrlich weiter jene fliessenden Bilder aufnehmt, werden eure Zweifel bald überwunden sein durch das Vertrauen, da ihr erkennt, dass der Inhalt davon nur von dem Allmächtigen Gott hervorgebracht werden kann.

Eine Lebensart…
Jesus demonstrierte die Fähigkeit, im ständigen Kontakt mit Gott zu leben, erklärend, dass Er nichts aus Seiner eigenen Initiative heraus tat, sondern nur das, was Er den Vater tun sah und den Vater sagen hörte (Johannes 5:19-20+30) Was für eine unglaubliche Art zu leben!

Ist es möglich für uns, aus der göttlichen Initiative heraus zu leben wie Jesus es tat? Ja! Es wird “In Christus bleibend” genannt (Johannes 15) Fixiert eure Augen auf Jesus. Der Schleier wurde zerrissen, Einlass gewährend in die unmittelbare Gegenwart Gottes und Er ruft uns zu, näher heranzukommen (Lukas 23:45 & Hebräer 10:19-22). “Ich bete, dass die Augen eurer Herzen erleuchtet sein werden” und ihr Seine Visionen sehen werdet. Sie sind Sein Geschenk für euch, frei gegeben (Apostelgeschichte 2:17)

4. Schlüssel:
Zeichnet eure Gebete und die Antworten Gottes auf, das bringt grosse Freiheit im Hören der Stimme Gottes

Gott sagte Habakuk, die Vision aufzuzeichnen (Habakuk 2:2). Dies war nicht ein isolierter Befehl. Die Schriften zeichnen viele Beispiele auf von Gebeten Einzelner und Antworten Gottes (z.B. die Psalmen, viele der Propheten, Offenbarung).

Ich nenne den Prozess “zwei-weg Aufzeichnung” und Ich habe festgestellt, dass dies ein grossartiger Beschleuniger für das deutliche Erkennen des inneren, spontanen Gedankenflusses von Gott ist, weil während Ich aufzeichne, ich in der Lage bin, im Vertrauen zu schreiben über eine lange Zeit, einfach glaubend, dass es Gott ist. Ich weiss, dass was Ich glaube, von Gott empfangen zu haben, getestet werden muss.

Wie auch immer, testen involviert Zweifel und Zweifel blockiert göttliche Kommunikation, also will ich nicht testen, während ich versuche zu empfangen (Hebräer 11:6). Mit dem Niederschreiben kann ich im Vertrauen empfangen, wissend, dass wenn der Fluss geendet hat, dass Ich dann sorgfältig testen und überprüfen kann, sicherstellend, dass es mit der Schrift übereinstimmt (1 Thessalonicher 5:21).

Entfernt Zweifel: Zweifel kann euch zuerst hindern, aber werft es weg, euch selbst daran erinnernd, dass die Worte und Visionen Gottes aufzuzeichnen, ein biblisches Konzept ist und dass Gott gegenwärtig ist und zu Seinen Kindern spricht. In der Bibel streut Satan laufend Zweifel, indem er sagt “Sagte Gott dir wirklich…?” (1. Mose 3:1)

Lernt zu entspannen! Wenn wir aufhören mit unseren Arbeiten und in Seine Ruhe eintreten, ist Gott frei zu fliessen (Hebräer 4:10) Sitzt bequem zurück, nehmt euren Stift und Papier hervor oder den Computer oder das iPad und lächelt und konzentriert euch auf den Herrn in Lob und Anbetung, Sein Gesicht suchend.

Schreibt nieder ‘Guten Morgen Herr! Ich liebe Dich. Was möchtest Du mir heute sagen?’ Dann werdet ruhig und fixiert euren Blick auf Jesus. Ihr werdet plötzlich einen sehr guten Gedanken haben. Zweifelt es nicht an; schreibt es einfach nieder. Später, während ihr eure Aufzeichnungen durchlest, werdet ihr gesegnet sein und entdecken, dass der Inhalt erstaunlich ist und dass ihr tatsächlich Zweisprache mit Gott gehalten habt!

Hört Gott durch erleuchtete Schriften: Gott durch die Bibel zu kennen, ist ein wichtiges Fundament für das Hören Seiner Stimme in eurem Herzen, also müsst ihr ein solides Engagement besitzen, das geschriebene Wort Gottes zu kennen und ihm zu gehorchen. Uns ist befohlen, über den Schriften zu meditieren (Josua 1:8). Während wir über den Schriften beten, finden wir Verse, die von der Seite emporspringen und uns zwischen den Augen treffen. Dies ist ein weiterer mächtiger Weg, wie Gott zu uns spricht. Regelmässige biblische Meditation ist uns von Gott befohlen und ist ein Muss für ein effektives, christliches Leben.

Nutzt spirituelle Ratgeber: Es ist auch sehr wichtig für euer Wachstum und eure Sicherheit, dass ihr in Verbindung steht mit soliden, geistigen Ratgebern. Alle bedeutenden Entscheidungen, die durch das Aufzeichnen hervortreten, sollten durch eure Ratgeber bestätigt werden, bevor ihr danach handelt. Die Bibel sagt, im Mund von zwei bis drei Zeugen soll jede Tatsache etabliert sein. Dieser Schritt solle nicht übersprungen werden!

Die vier Schlüssel erscheinen wieder in der Offenbarung: Johannes nutzte die gleichen vier Schlüssel, die Habakuk nutzte. In Offenbarung 1:9-11 stellen wir fest, dass er im Geist war (in der Stille), er hörte eine Stimme hinter sich (eingestimmt auf Spontanität), die sagte ‘Schreibe in ein Buch (Zeichne auf), was du siehst (Vision).’ Also im Alten und im Neuen Testament finden wir die gleichen vier Schlüssel, um die Stimme Gottes zu empfangen. Sorgt euch nicht um die Ordnung der Schlüssel. Stellt nur sicher, dass ihr alle vier Schlüssel benutzt.

Discover four keys to consistent, powerful, life-giving conversations with God.

I tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep. The thought kept going through my mind: “What if I died tonight? I’m not ready to go to heaven.” Since I could not shake the thought, I got up, went downstairs and waited for my parents to come home from their meeting. When they did, I announced that I wanted to get saved, and they took me straightway to the pastor’s home where he explained the plan of salvation and led me in the sinner’s prayer. I was 15 years old when I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and Savior.

It was God’s voice that was speaking to me that night, calling me into His kingdom. His voice came as a spontaneous thought inside my head. However, I didn’t define this as the primary way God’s voice is heard until I had completed a desperate 10 year search to hear Him clearly.

Christianity is unique among religions, for it alone offers a personal relationship with the Creator beginning here and now, and lasting throughout eternity. Jesus declared, “This is eternal life – that they may know God” (John 17:3). Unfortunately, many in the Church miss the great blessing of fellowship with our Lord because we have lost the ability to recognize His voice. Though John 10:27 promises us that “My sheep hear My voice,” too many believers are starved for that intimate relationship that alone can satisfy the desire of their hearts.

I was one of those sheep who was unable to identify the voice of my Shepherd. I hungered for deeper spiritual intimacy with God, but I could not find it. Then on the eleventh year of my Christian life I had the spontaneous thought that “I should take a year of my life and focus on learning to hear God’s voice.” I decided to act on that thought and devote a year to focused effort, learning to hear His voice. Unbeknown to me, it was the Lord calling me to invest that time.

That year the Lord revealed four simple keys, all found in Habakkuk 2:1-2, which unlocked the treasure of His voice. Using the four keys together allowed me to easily hear God’s voice on a daily basis. It was the most transforming step I have taken in the 45 years of my Christian life! I would like to share them with you so you can try them and see if they do the same for you.

1. Key: God’s voice in your heart often sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts.

Habakkuk knew the sound of God speaking to him (Habakkuk 2:2). Elijah described it as a still, small voice (1 Kings 19:12). I had always listened for an inner audible voice, and God does speak that way at times. However, I have found that usually, God’s voice comes as spontaneous thoughts, or flowing thoughts.

For example, haven’t you ever been driving down the road and had a thought come to you to pray for a certain person? Didn’t you believe it was God telling you to pray? What did God’s voice sound like? Was it an audible voice, or was it a spontaneous thought that lit upon your mind?

Experience indicates that we perceive spirit-level communication as spontaneous thoughts, impressions and visions, and Scripture confirms this in many ways. For example, one definition of paga, a Hebrew word for intercession, is “a chance encounter or an accidental intersecting.” When God lays people on our hearts, He does it through paga, a chance-encounter thought “accidentally” intersecting our minds. We consider it chance encounter in that we didn’t reason it up, however it is purposeful, because God sent it to us.

Therefore, when you want to hear God’s voice, you tune to chance-encounter, spontaneous or flowing thoughts. Even satan’s thoughts come to us as spontaneous thoughts, which is why we are commanded to “take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5). I am sure all of us have experienced spontaneous evil thoughts coming to us, even attacking right in the middle of our prayer and worship times. So I conclude that analytical thoughts are mine, spontaneous good thoughts come from the Holy Spirit, and spontaneous evil thoughts come from evil spirits.

God’s thoughts line up with Scripture and with His various names: Comforter, Counselor, Teacher, Giver of Life, Healer and Deliverer. His thoughts edify, exhort, and comfort. They are pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering (James 3:17).

Satan’s thoughts line up with his various names: accuser, adversary, thief who comes to kill, steal and destroy. His thoughts condemn and bring despair, rejection, fear, doubt, unbelief and in general, misery. Satan’s thoughts bring jealousy and selfish ambition (James 3:14,15).

2. Key: Become still so you can sense God’s flow of thoughts.

Habakkuk said, “I will stand on my guard post…” (Habakkuk 2:1). Habakkuk knew that to hear God’s quiet, inner, spontaneous thoughts, he had to first go to a quiet place and still his own thoughts and emotions. Psalm 62:5 encourages us to silence our souls before God. There is a deep inner knowing (spontaneous flow) in our spirits that each of us can experience when we quiet our flesh and our minds. If we are not still, we will sense only our own thoughts.

Loving God through a quiet worship song is one very effective way to become still. (2 Kings 3:15.) After I worship and become silent within, I open myself for that spontaneous flow. If thoughts come of things I have forgotten to do, I write them down so I can do them later. If thoughts of guilt or unworthiness come, I repent thoroughly, receive the washing of the blood of the Lamb, putting on His robe of righteousness, seeing myself spotless before God (Isaiah 61:10; Colossians 1:22).

Clear focus provides the purest flow: To receive the pure word of God, it is very important that my heart be properly focused as I become still because the intuitive flow comes out of the vision being held before one’s eyes. If I fix my eyes upon Jesus, the intuitive flow is pure and comes from Jesus. But if I fix my gaze upon some desire of my heart, the intuitive flow is affected by that desire. To have a pure flow I must become still and carefully fix my eyes upon Jesus (Hebrews 12:2).

Again, quietly worshiping the King, and receiving out of the stillness that follows quite easily accomplishes this. Beginning my prayer time as Jesus taught us to pray is expedient: “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name…” Jesus taught us to begin prayer by lifting our eyes up to our Father and beholding Him. We don’t start prayer with our issues. We start our prayer by gazing upon Him!

3. Key: Fix your eyes upon Jesus and ask to receive visions.

Habakkuk said, “I will keep watch to see,” (Habakkuk 2:1-2). Habakkuk was actually looking for a vision as he prayed. Since I believe the Bible is meant to be lived, I decided that I, too, would begin looking with the eyes of my heart into the Spirit world to see what I could see.

Do what King David did! A good way to begin using the eyes of your heart is by doing what King David did: “For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN” (Acts 2:25 NASB). The original Psalm makes it clear that this was a decision of David’s, not a constant supernatural visitation: “I have set (literally, I have placed) the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (Psalm 16:8).

Because David knew that the Lord was always with him, he determined in his spirit to see that truth with the eyes of his heart as he went through life, knowing that this would keep his faith strong.

We say, “A picture is worth 1000 words.” I believe that is because pictures are the language of the heart. We notice that Jesus used pictures constantly as He taught (Matthew 13:34). When I use pictures in my prayer time, fixing my eyes on Jesus, I am speaking the language of my heart and that moves me quickly into heart/spirit realities getting me beyond my mind.

Use godly imagination: So I choose to do what King David did and I develop “godly imagination,” which I define as “picturing things God says are so.” Obviously if I am picturing that Jesus is NOT with me, that would be picturing a lie, which is unwise.

I can’t imagine any reason I would want to picture unscriptural things. So I see Jesus at my right hand, always. I add to this Paul’s prayer for God to enlighten the eyes of my heart (Ephesians 1:17-18). Then I tune to the flow of the Holy Spirit, and He brings the scene alive. I find I can step from these godly imaginations, into a divine vision.

It is amazing, simple and child-like! Of course it would need to be, as we are told that to enter the kingdom we must become as little children. My 6-year-old granddaughter can do this and she shares with me her journaling and the visions of the angels standing on both sides of her protecting her and watching over her. You will find your young children can do these four keys easier than you can! Try it with them and see.

From Genesis to Revelation God gave dreams and visions, and He specifically said that in the last days He would pour out His Spirit and we would see dreams and visions (Acts 2:1-4, 17).
We must look if we want to see! Daniel saw a vision in his mind and said, “I was looking…I kept looking…I kept looking” (Daniel 7:2,9,13).

So I needed to repent for not looking, and begin presenting the eyes of my heart to the Lord, and looking. As I pray, I look for Jesus, and I watch and listen as He speaks to me, doing and saying the things that are on His heart. Many Christians will find that if they will only look, they will see flowing pictures, in the same way they receive flowing thoughts.

Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23). It is as simple as that. You can see Christ present with you because Christ is present with you. In fact, the vision may come so easily that you will be tempted to reject it, thinking that it is just you. But if you persist in recording these flowing pictures, your doubt will soon be overcome by faith as you recognize that the content of them could only be birthed by Almighty God.

A lifestyle: Jesus demonstrated the ability of living out of constant contact with God, declaring that He did nothing on His own initiative, but only what He saw the Father doing, and heard the Father saying (John 5:19,20,30). What an incredible way to live!

Is it possible for you to live out of divine initiative as Jesus did? Yes! It is called “abiding in Christ” (John 15). Fix your eyes upon Jesus. The veil has been torn, giving access into the immediate presence of God, and He calls you to draw near (Luke 23:45; Hebrews 10:19-22). “I pray that the eyes of your heart will be enlightened” and you will see His visions. They are His gift to you, freely given (Acts 2:17).

4. Key: Journaling, the writing out of your prayers and God’s answers, brings great freedom in hearing God’s voice.

God told Habakkuk to record the vision (Habakkuk 2:2). This was not an isolated command. The Scriptures record many examples of individual’s prayers and God’s replies (e.g. the Psalms, many of the prophets, Revelation).

I call the process “two-way journaling,” and I have found it to be a fabulous catalyst for clearly discerning God’s inner, spontaneous flow, because as I journal I am able to write in faith for long periods of time, simply believing it is God. I know that what I believe I have received from God must be tested.

However, testing involves doubt and doubt blocks divine communication, so I do not want to test while I am trying to receive (Hebrews 11:6). With journaling, I can receive in faith, knowing that when the flow has ended I can test and examine it carefully, making sure that it lines up with Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Remove doubt: Doubt may hinder you at first, but throw it off, reminding yourself that recording God’s words and visions is a biblical concept, and that God is present, speaking to His children. In the Bible, satan is constantly casting doubt by saying, “Did God really tell you…?” (Gen. 3:1 GNB).

Learn to relax! When we cease our labors and enter His rest, God is free to flow (Heb. 4:10). Sit back comfortably, take out your pen and paper (or computer or iPad), smile, and turn your attention toward the Lord in praise and worship, seeking His face. Write down, “Good morning, Lord! I love You.

What do You want to say to me?” Then become still, fixing your gaze on Jesus. You will suddenly have a very good thought. Don’t doubt it; simply write it down. Later, as you read over your journaling, you will be blessed to discover that the content is amazing and that you are indeed dialoguing with God!

Hear God through illumined Scripture: Knowing God through the Bible is a vital foundation to hearing His voice in your heart, so you must have a solid commitment to knowing and obeying God’s written Word. We are commanded to meditate on Scriptures (Josh. 1:8). As we pray over Scripture, we find verses leap off the page and hit us between the eyes. This is another very powerful way that God speaks to us. Regular scriptural meditation is commanded by God and is a must for the effective Christian life.

Utilize spiritual advisors: It is also very important for your growth and safety that you be related to solid, spiritual counselors. All major directional moves that come through journaling should be confirmed by your counselors before you act upon them. The Bible says in the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact is to be established (2 Cor. 13:1). Also, in the multitude of counselors, there is safety (Prov. 15:22). So make sure you walk in meekness and seek out and receive input from your spiritual advisors. This step must not be skipped!

The four keys appear again in Revelation: John used the same four keys that Habakkuk did. In Revelation 1:9-11 we find he was in the spirit (stillness), he heard a voice behind him (tuned to spontaneity), saying, “Write in a book (journaling), what you see (vision).” So in both Old and New Testaments we find the same four keys being used to receive God’s voice. Don’t worry about the order of the keys. Just make sure you are using all four keys.

Mark Virkler spiega… Come fare a sentire la Voce di Dio!

Scopri quattro chiavi per (avere) consistenti, potenti, vivificanti conversazioni con Dio.

Mi agitavo e mi rigiravo nel letto, incapace di addormentarmi. Il pensiero continuava ad attraversarmi la mente: “Cosa farei se morissi stanotte? Non sono pronto per andare in Cielo.”
Dal momento che non potevo scrollarmi di dosso quel pensiero, mi alzai, scesi le scale e aspettai che i miei genitori tornassero a casa dalla loro riunione. Quando tornarono, annunciai loro che volevo essere salvato, ed essi mi portarono subito a casa del pastore, dove egli mi spiegò il piano della salvezza e mi guidò nella preghiera del peccatore. Avevo 15 anni, quando accettai Gesù Cristo nel mio cuore come mio Signore e Salvatore.

Era la voce di Dio, che mi stava parlando, quella notte, chiamandomi nel Suo Regno. La Sua voce mi giunse come un pensiero spontaneo nella testa. Tuttavia, non definii questo come il modo primario in cui si sente la voce di Dio , finché non ebbi concluso una disperata ricerca, durata 10 ann,i per udirLo chiaramente.

Il Cristianesimo è unico tra le religioni, perché esso solo offre una relazione personale con il Creatore, a cominciare da qui e ora e della durata di tutta l’eternità. Gesù ha dichiarato: “Questa è la vita eterna – che possano conoscere Dio”, (Giovanni, 17:3). Sfortunatamente, a molti nella Chiesa, manca la grande benedizione dell’amicizia con Nostro Signore, perché hanno perso l’abilità di riconoscere la Sua voce. Sebbene Giovanni 10:27 ci prometta che “Le Mie pecore odono la Mia voce”, troppi credenti muoiono di fame per quella relazione intima che, sola, può soddisfare il desiderio dei loro cuori.

Io ero una di quelle pecore che era incapace di riconoscere la voce del Mio Pastore. Bramavo una più profonda intimità spirituale con Dio, ma non riuscivo a trovarla. Poi, l’undicesimo anno della mia vita cristiana, ebbi il pensiero spontaneo: “Dovrei prendermi un anno di vita e focalizzarmi sull’imparare a sentire la Sua voce”. Decisi di agire in base a quel pensiero e dedicare un anno ad uno sforzo focalizzato, imparare a sentire la Sua voce. Sconosciuto a me, era il Signore, a chiamarmi a investire quel tempo.

Quell’anno il Signore mi rivelò quattro semplici chiavi, tutte trovate in Abacuc 2:1-2, che sbloccarono il tesoro della Sua voce. Usare le quattro chiavi insieme, mi permise di udire facilmente la voce di Dio su una base giornaliera. E’ stato il passo più trasformativo che abbia fatto nei 45 anni della mia vita cristiana! Mi piacerebbe condividerle con voi, così potete provarle e vedere se fanno lo stesso per voi.

1 – Chiave: la voce di Dio nel vostro cuore, spesso risuona come un flusso di pensieri spontanei.
Abacuc conosceva il suono di Dio che gli parlava (Abacuc 2:2). Elia la descriveva come una vocina tranquilla (1 Re 19:12). Sono sempre stato in ascolto per una voce interiore udibile, e Dio parla davvero in quel modo, a volte. Tuttavia, ho trovato che di solito, la voce di Dio giunge come dei pensieri spontanei, o un flusso di pensieri.

Per esempio, non vi siete mai trovati a guidare per la strada e vi è sovvenuto il pensiero di pregare per una certa persona? Non avete creduto che fosse Dio a dirvi di pregare? A cosa assomiglia il suono della voce di Dio? Era una voce udibile, o era un pensiero spontaneo, affiorato alla vostra mente? L’esperienza indica che noi percepiamo la comunicazione del livello spirituale come dei pensieri, delle impressioni e delle visioni spontanei, e le Scritture confermano questo in molti modi. Per esempio, una definizione di “paga”, una parola ebraica per “intercessione”, è “un incontro casuale o un incrociarsi accidentale”. Quando Dio mette le persone nei nostri cuori, lo fa attraverso “paga”, un pensiero d’incontro casuale, che “per caso” incrocia le nostre menti. Lo consideriamo incontro casuale quello su cui non abbiamo ragionato, tuttavia è intenzionale, perché Dio ce lo ha mandato.
Perciò, quando volete sentire la voce di Dio, voi sintonizzatevi sui pensieri da incontro casuale, spontanei o che fluiscono. Anche i pensieri di satana ci arrivano come pensieri spontanei, che è il motivo per cui ci è comandato di “tenere prigioniero ogni pensiero” (2 Corinzi 10:5). Sono sicuro che tutti noi abbiamo fatto esperienza di cattivi pensieri spontanei che ci vengono, assalendoci anche nel bel mezzo dei nostri momenti di preghiera e adorazione. Così concludo che i pensieri analitici sono miei, i pensieri spontanei buoni vengono dallo Spirito Santo e i pensieri spontanei cattivi vengono dagli spiriti maligni.
I pensieri di Dio sono in linea con le Scritture e con i Suoi vari nomi: Consolatore, Consigliere, Maestro, Datore di Vita, Guaritore e Liberatore. I Suoi pensieri edificano, esortano e confortano. Sono puri, pacifici, gentili, ragionevoli, pieni di misericordia e di buoni frutti, incrollabili (Giacomo 3:17).
I pensieri di satana sono in linea con i suoi vari nomi: accusatore, avversario, ladro che viene per uccidere, rubare e distruggere. I suoi pensieri condannano e portano disperazione, rifiuto, paura, dubbio, incredulità e, in generale, miseria. I pensieri di satana portano gelosie e ambizione egoistica (Giacomo 3:14,15).

2 – Chiave: state calmi così potete avvertire il fluire dei pensieri di Dio.
Abacuc ha detto: “Io starò in piedi al mio posto di guardia…” (Abacuc 2:1). Abacuc sapeva che per sentire i pensieri tranquilli, interiori, spontanei di Dio, doveva prima andare in un posto tranquillo e calmare i suoi propri pensieri e le sue emozioni.

Il salmo 62:5 ci incoraggia a far tacere le nostre anime davanti a Dio. C’è una profonda conoscenza interna, (un fluire spontaneo), nei nostri spiriti, che ciascuno di noi può sperimentare quando calmiamo il corpo e le menti. Se non siamo tranquilli, sentiremo solo i nostri propri pensieri.
Amare Dio per mezzo di una tranquilla canzone d’adorazione e un modo molto efficace per raggiungere la calma. (2 Re 3:15).

Dopo aver adorato e fatto silenzio dentro, io mi apro a quel fluire spontaneo. Se mi arrivano pensieri di cose che ho dimenticato di fare, li butto giù per scritto, così posso farle dopo. Se mi arrivano pensieri di colpa o indegnità, me ne pento completamente, ricevo il lavacro del Sangue dell’Agnello, indossando la Sua veste di giustizia, vedendomi senza macchia davanti a Dio (Isaia 61:10; Colossesi 1:22).

Una chiara messa a fuoco fornisce il fluire più puro: per ricevere la pura parola di Dio è molto importante che il mio cuore sia propriamente focalizzato, quando raggiungo la quiete, perché il fluire intuitivo viene fuori dalla visione che si mantiene davanti agli occhi. Se fisso gli occhi su Gesù, il flusso è puro e viene da Gesù. Ma, se fisso lo sguardo su qualche desiderio del mio cuore, il flusso intuitivo è affetto da quel desiderio. Per ottenere un fluire puro, devo diventare immobile e fissare gli occhi con attenzione su Gesù (Ebrei, 12:2).

Ancora, si realizza questo abbastanza facilmente… adorando quietamente il Re e ricevendo dalla quiete che ne segue.

L’espediente è iniziare il mio tempo di preghiera come Gesù ci ha insegnato a pregare: “Padre Nostro, che sei nei cieli, sia santificato il Tuo nome…” . Gesù ci insegnò a cominciare a pregare sollevando gli occhi al nostro Padre e guardandoLo. Non iniziamo a pregare con i nostri problemi. Iniziamo la nostra preghiera contemplando Lui.

3 – Chiave: fissate gli occhi su Gesù e chiedete di ricevere delle visioni.
Abacuc disse: “Continuerò a guardare per vedere”, (Abacuc 2:1-2). Abacuc effettivamente stava cercando una visione, quando pregava. Dal momento che credo che la Bibbia sia intesa essere viva, ho deciso che anch’io avrei iniziato a guardare, con gli occhi del cuore, nel mondo dello Spirito, per vedere cosa potessi vedere.

Fate ciò che fece Re David!

Un buon modo per iniziare ad usare gli occhi del cuore è facendo ciò che fece Re David: “Poiché David dice di Lui: “IO VIDI SEMPRE IL SIGNORE ALLA MIA PRESENZA: POICHE’ EGLI E’ ALLA MIA DESTRA, COSI’ CHE IO NON SARO’ SCOSSO” (Atti 2:25 – New American Standard Bible).
Il salmo originale rende chiaro che questa fu una decisione di David, non una visitazione soprannaturale costante: “Ho collocato (letteralmente, ho posizionato) il Signore continuamente davanti a me; porché Egli è alla mia destra, io non sarò scosso” (Salmo 16:8).

Poiché David sapeva che il Signore era sempre con lui, determinò nel suo spirito di vedere quella verità con gli occhi del suo cuore, mentre attraversava la vita, sapendo che questo avrebbe mantenuto forte la sua fede.

Diciamo: “Un’immagine è meglio di 1000 parole”. Credo che sia perché le immagini sono il linguaggio del cuore. Notiamo che Gesù usava costantemente immagini quando insegnava (Matteo 13:34). Quando uso immagini durante il mio tempo di preghiera, fissando i miei occhi su Gesù, io sto parlando il linguaggio del mio cuore e ciò mi fa muovere rapidamente nelle realtà del cuore/spirito, portandomi oltre la mia mente.

Usate un’immaginazione devota: quindi scelgo di fare ciò che fece Re David e ho sviluppato “l’immaginazione devota”, che definisco come “figurarmi le cose come Dio dice che siano”.
Ovviamente, se immagino che Gesù NON sia con me, ciò sarebbe immaginare una menzogna, che è insensato.

Non riesco ad immaginare una ragione per cui vorrei figurarmi cose che non sono dalle Scritture. Quindi, vedo Gesù alla mia destra, sempre. Aggiungo a questo la preghiera di Paolo, affinché Dio illumini gli occhi del mio cuore (Efesini, 1:17-18). Poi mi sintonizzo sul fluire dello Spirito Santo ed Egli mi porta la scena viva. Scopro di riuscire a passare da queste immaginazioni devote ad una visione divina.

E’ stupefacente, semplice e infantile! Naturalmente avrebbe dovuto esserlo, dal momento che ci è stato detto che, per entrare nel regno, dobbiamo diventare come bambini piccoli. La mia nipotina di anni riesce a farlo, e condivide con me il suo diario e le visioni degli angeli che le stanno ad entrambi i lati, per proteggerla e custodirla. Scoprirete che i vostri bambini possono eseguire queste quattro chiavi più facilmente di quanto non possiate voi! Provate con loro e vedrete.
Dalla Genesi all’Apocalisse, Dio ha dato sogni e visioni, ed Egli ha specificatamente detto che, negli ultimi giorni, avrebbe riversato il Suo Spirito e avremmo avuto sogni e visioni (Atti, 2:1-4, 17).
Dobbiamo guardare se vogliamo vedere! Daniele vide una visione nella sua mente e disse: “Stavo guardando… ho continuato a guardare… ho continuato a vedere”, (Daniele 7:2,9,13).

Quindi, se non vedevo, avevo bisogno di pentirmi, e comincio presentando gli occhi del mio cuore al Signore e guardando. Appena prego, cerco Gesù, e guardo, e ascolto, appena mi parla, facendo e dicendo le cose che sono nel Suo Cuore. Molti Cristiani troveranno che, se solo guardano, vedranno fluire delle immagini, nello stesso modo in cui ricevono flussi di pensieri.

Gesù è l’Emmanuele, il Dio con noi (Matteo 1:23). E’ così semplice. Puoi vedere Cristo presente a te, perché Cristo é presente a te. Infatti, la visione potrà giungere così facilmente che sarai tentato di rifiutarla, pensando che sei solo tu. Ma, se perseveri a registrare queste immagini che fluiscono, il tuo dubbio verrà presto sorpassato dalla fede e riconoscerai che il loro contenuto potrebbe originare solo da Dio Onnipotente.

Uno stile di vita: Gesù dimostrò l’abilità di vivere in contatto costante con Dio, dichiarando che Egli non faceva niente di Sua propria iniziativa, ma solo ciò che vedeva il Padre fare e udiva il Padre dire (Giovanni 5:19, 20, 30). Che modo incredibile di vivere!

E’ possibile per voi vivere secondo l’iniziativa divina, come faceva Gesù? Sì! E’ chiamato “abitare in Cristo”(Giovanni 15). Fissate lo sguardo su Gesù. Il velo è stato strappato, dando accesso all’immediata presenza di Dio, ed Egli vi chiama ad avvicinarvi (Luca 23:45; Ebrei 10:19-22). “Io prego che gli occhi del vostro cuore siano illuminati” e voi vedrete le Sue visioni. Sono il Suo dono a voi, liberamente donato (Atti 2:17).

4 – Chiave: Tenere un diario, scrivere le vostre preghiere e le risposte di Dio, porta una grande libertà nell’udire la voce di Dio.
Dio disse ad Abacuc di registrare la visione (Abacuc 2:2). Questo non era un comando isolato. Le Scritture riportano molti esempi di preghiere individuali e delle repliche di Dio (es. i Salmi, molti dei profeti, l’Apocalisse).

Io chiamo il processo “diario in due modi”, e ho trovato che sia un catalizzatore fantastico per discernere con chiarezza il flusso interno, spontaneo di Dio, perché, come tengo un diario, sono capace di scrivere nella fede per lunghi periodi di tempo, semplicemente credendo che sia Dio. So che ciò che credo di aver ricevuto da Dio deve essere esaminato.

Tuttavia, l’esaminare coinvolge il dubbio e il dubbio blocca la comunicazione divina, così non voglio controllare mentre sto tentando di ricevere (Ebrei 11:6). Col tenere un diario, posso ricevere nella fede, sapendo che quando il flusso sarà finito, potrò analizzarlo ed esaminarlo attentamente, assicurandomi che sia in linea con le Scritture (1 Tessalonicesi 5:21).

Cacciate il dubbio: il dubbio può ostacolarvi all’inizio, ma rigettatelo, ricordando a voi stessi che registrare le parole e le visioni di Dio è un concetto biblico, e che Dio è presente, e parla ai Suoi figli. Nella Bibbia, satana sta costantemente insinuando il dubbio, col dire: “Te l’ha detto davvero Dio…?” (Gen. 3:1 Good News Bible).

Imparate a rilassarvi! Quando cessiamo le nostre fatiche ed entriamo nella Sua pace, Dio è libero di fluire (Ebrei 4:10). Sedetevi in modo confortevole, prendete carta e penna (o il computer o l’iPad), sorridete e volgete l’attenzione verso il Signore, in preghiera e adorazione, cercando il Suo volto. Scrivete:” Buon giorno, Signore! Ti amo. Cosa vuoi dirmi?”

Poi state fermi, fissando lo sguardo su Gesù. Improvvisamente avrete un pensiero molto buono. Non dubitate di esso; semplicemente buttatelo giù per iscritto. Più tardi, quando rileggerete il vostro diario, sarete benedetti dallo scoprire che il contenuto è stupefacente e che in verità state dialogando con Dio!

Sentire Dio attraverso le Scritture illuminate: conoscere Dio attraverso la Bibbia è un fondamento vitale per sentire la Sua voce nel vostro cuore, così dovete mettere un valido impegno nel conoscere e obbedire alla Parola scritta di Dio. Ci è comandato di meditare sulle Scritture (Giosuè 1:8). Quando preghiamo sulle Scritture, troviamo che dei versetti saltano fuori dalla pagina e ci colpiscono tra gli occhi. Questo è un altro modo molto potente in cui Dio ci parla. La meditazione regolare sulle Scritture ci è comandata da Dio ed è un obbligo per l’effettiva vita cristiana.

Usate dei consiglieri spirituali: è anche molto importante perla vostra crescita e per la vostra salvezza, che siate in contatto con dei solidi consiglieri spirituali. Tutte le maggiori direttive che arrivano dal tenere un diario, dovrebbero essere confermate dal vostro consigliere prima che voi agiate sulla loro base. La Bibbia dice che ogni fatto deve essere confermato vero dalla bocca di due o tre testimoni (2 Cor. 13:1). Inoltre, nella moltitudine dei consiglieri, c’è salvezza (Proverbi 15:22). Quindi, assicuratevi di procedere in mansuetudine e cercate e ricevete input dai vostri consiglieri spirituali. Questo passo non deve essere saltato!

Le quattro chiavi appaiono di nuovo nell’Apocalisse: Giovanni usò le stesse quattro chiavi che usò Abacuc. In Apocalisse 1:9-11 troviamo che egli era nello spirito (quiete), sentì una voce dietro a lui (sintonizzato alla spontaneità) che diceva: “Scrivi in un libro (il diario) cos’hai visto (la visione). Quindi in entrambi, sia nel Vecchio che nel Nuovo Testamento, troviamo che si utilizzano le stesse quattro chiavi per ricevere la voce di Dio.

Non preoccupatevi dell’ordine delle chiavi. Solo assicuratevi di usarle tutt’e quattro. Queste quattro chiavi funzionano come un PACCHETTO (Fermati! Guarda! Ascolta! Scrivi!): esse ottengono il risultato! La gente sente. Garantiamo che se userete queste quattro chiavi insieme, funzioneranno per voi e sentirete la voce di Dio.
