Jesus sagt… Ich rate dir, die Stadt zu verlassen,
aber dies ist kein Gebot, nur ein Rat

16. Januar 1843

Auf eine Anfrage Ans. H. wegen Übersiedelung.

1. Also sage Meinem Freunde, darob er sich fragend an Mich gewandt hat: Mein Rat ist kein Gebot und zwingt daher niemanden zu irgendeiner Handlung; aber dessenungeachtet soll ihn der, dem er zuteil ward, nicht zu leicht nehmen, wenn er wahrhaft glücklich fahren will.

2. Ich habe schon zu mehreren Malen Mein gerechtestes Missfallen über alles Stadtleben in jeglicher Hinsicht dargetan. Ich habe gezeigt, wie die Städte nun bereits ohne Ausnahme im vollkommensten Antichristentume leben und nirgends mehr in denselben etwas anderes wohnt als: Eigenliebe, Geiz, Neid, Betrug aller Art, Hurerei aller Art, Geilheit, Sinnlichkeit, Wucher, Frass, Völlerei, Verderbtheit aller besseren Sitten und überhaupt aller Art Laster unerhörter Weise!

3. Was ist da wohl natürlicher, als dass Ich von solch einer gemeinschaftlichen Wohnstätte alles Lasters Mein Angesicht gar ehest wegwenden werde, ja ganz gewiss völlig wegwenden werde, und werde ein starkes Gericht über solch eine Satanswohnung ergehen lassen! – Ob es da geheuer sein wird zu bleiben, das magst du, Mein Freund, nun selbst beurteilen!

4. Daher sage Ich dir: Ziehe dich gar ehest der Stadt entlang, verlasse die Wohnung des Lasters, denn Ich will sie gar ehestens heimsuchen mit grosser Teuerung, mit grosser Finsternis will Ich sie schlagen und will sie ganz in alle Hurerei übergehen lassen, auf dass sie ersticke im Schlamme der Nacht und ihres Mir gar ärgerlichsten Weltlebens.

5. Also rate Ich dir, aus der Stadt zu ziehen; aber Ich gebiete es dir mitnichten. Ich meine aber, so jemand von Mir weiss, dass es in einem Hause darum nicht mehr geheuer ist zu verbleiben, da ihm der nahe Einsturz drohe, so ist er ein grosser Tor, wenn er dem Rate Dessen nicht folgen will, der es nur zu gut weiss, welch eine Bewandtnis es mit dem Hause hat!

6. Also führte Ich ja auch das israelitische Volk aus Ägypten, denn Ich wusste es ja, wie es mit diesem Lande stand. Also musste Lot aus der Stadt, denn Ich wusste es, wie es mit der Stadt stand. Also liess Ich die Meinen auch alle eher aus Jerusalem entfliehen, als Ich sie richtete, diese alte Ehebrecherin.

7. Siehe, also ist allezeit Mein Rat beschaffen; wer ihn befolgt zur rechten Zeit, der wird vom Gerichte nicht gestreift werden, – denn dieses wird kommen wie ein Blitz ganz unerwartet!

8. Aber du fragst: Wohin solle ich – Dir, o Vater, wohlgefällig übersiedeln? – Ich sage dir nicht: Siehe, dahin oder dorthin! Dahin du den Sinn hast, dahin ziehe auch, und Ich werde, dich segnend, bei dir sein und ziehen mit dir! – Ob das Land Kärnten das rechte ist, frage nicht; so du aber dahin ziehst, werde Ich bei dir sein.

9. Aber im Steierlande sollst du dich nicht leichtlich irgendwo ansiedeln, dessen Herz die Stadt ist, da du wohnst; denn wie das Herz, so auch der Leib!

10. Kärnten, die Schweiz und Württemberg aber sind noch immer die besten Lande. Tirol wäre auch so übel nicht, wenn die Täler nicht so voll der Nacht wären, – aber besser ist es um vieles denn die Steiermark und andere Lande Österreichs. Darum will Ich es auch noch verwahren eine Zeitlang vor der kommenden Pestilenz!

11. Was aber sollst du deinen reichen Anverwandten sagen, so sie dich fragten, warum du solches tätest? – Fürs erste bist du ein Herr deines Willens und kannst tun, was du willst; fürs zweite aber ist es besser, auf Mich denn auf die Verwandten zu hören! – Lasse den Toten den Toten begraben, du aber folge Mir!

12. Zur Zeit aber, wann du Meinem Rate zu folgen gedenkest, werde Ich es dir schon buchstäblich geben, was du zu sagen hast, und es wird dich niemand hindern an deinem Mir wohlgefälligen Unternehmen. Verlängere aber nicht zu sehr den Termin; denn Mein Geschütz ist geladen und wohlgerichtet!

13. Ich werde aber auch Meine anderen Freunde beschützen. Wie? Das weiss Ich! – Also beachte diesen Rat, so du willst amen.

Jesus says… I advise you to leave the City,
but this is no Command, only an Advice

January 16, 1843

Answer to an inquiry of Ans. H. about relocation.

1. So, tell My friend, who turned to Me with this question, the following: My advice is not a command, and therefore does not force anyone to do anything. Nevertheless, the one for whom the advice was intended, should not take it too lightly, if he truly wants to fare well.

2. I have already illustrated My just displeasure serveral times in every respect concerning all city life. I have shown, how the cities, without exception, already live in the most perfect anti-Christianity, and in them nothing else other than this exists anymore: self-love, stinginess, envy, deceit of all kinds, harlotry of all kinds, lechery, sensuality, usury, gluttony, depravity of all morals and, in general, all kinds of vices!

3. What is more natural, than to turn My countenance away from such a communal dwelling place of all vices, and I certainly will turn my countenance completely away, and I will mete out a strong judgment over such a dwelling place of Satan! – Whether or not it will be safe to stay there, My friend, this is now for you to assess!

4. Therefore I say to you: Depart the city as soon as possible, leave the dwelling of vices, for I shall afflict it with great inflation at the earliest, with great darkness shall I smite it, and let it pass over completely into all harlotry, so that it may suffocate in the mud of the night and its most irksome world life.

5. So, I advise you to move out of the city; but by no means do I command you to do so. But I mean, if someone knows from Me, that it is no longer safe to stay in a house, since it’s close to collapsing, he would be a great fool if he doesn’t want to follow the advice of the one, who only knows too well, what the state of the house is!

6. In the same way I also led the people of Israel out of Egypt, for I knew how things were with this country. In the same way, Lot had to get out of the city, for I knew how things were with the city. In the same way, I also let My own escape from Jerusalem, before I judged this old adulteress.

7. See, My advice is always of this nature; whoever obeys it at the right time will not be touched by the judgment – for it will come like a flash of lightning, out of the blue!

8. But you ask: Where should I move to, oh Father, where would it please you? – I’m not telling you to move here or there! Wherever your sense takes you, go there, and I will be with you, I will go with you, and bless you! – Do not ask whether the Land of Carinthia is the correct one; but if you do move there, I will be with you.

9. But you should not settle readily anywhere in Styria, whose heart is the city in which you currently live, for, like the heart, so also is the body!

10. Carinthia, Switzerland and Württemberg are still the best countries. Tyrol would not be so bad either if the valleys were not so full of darkness – but it is still much better than Styria and other Austrian regions. That’s why I want to keep it safe for a while from the encroaching pestilence!

11. But what should you tell your wealthy relatives if they were to ask you why you’re doing this? – Firstly, you are a lord of your own will and can do as you please; and secondly, it is better to listen to Me than to the relatives! – Let the dead bury the dead, you, however, follow Me!

12. At the time, however, should you intend to follow My advice, I will give it to you literally, what you must tell them, and no one will prevent you from proceeding with your venture, a venture most pleasing to Me. But don’t delay it for too long; because My cannon is loaded and aligned!

13. But I also will protect My other friends as well. How? Oh I know! – So heed this advice, if you want to… Amen.
