Von Jesus Christus geoffenbart durch das Innere Wort an Jakob Lorber

1. Der Zöllner Jored lud die fünf (griechischen) Priester (drei Apollo-, ein Zeus- und ein Minerva-Priester) natürlich auch zum Mittagsmahle, welche Einladung sie sogleich freundlichst annahmen, und sie setzten sich an unseren Tisch. Unter dem Mahle ward allda nach griechischer Sitte wenig oder auch nichts geredet; aber nach dem Mahle, als der Wein einmal die Zungen gelöst hatte, da ging dann das Reden schon an, und es ward bald sehr lebhaft an dem Tische.

2. Die fünf Priester aber horchten nur und redeten wenig; denn sie wollten so aus den Reden der Jünger und anderen Gäste geheim ablauschen, wer Ich denn eigentlich wäre und von woher gekommen. Aber es wollte sich nichts von derlei aus den verschiedenen Reden der Gäste vernehmen lassen.

3. Mit der Zeit ging den fünfen die Geduld aus, und sie fingen an zu fragen, ob sie nun nicht etwas reden dürften, und zwar eben wegen ihres künftigen priesterlichen Verhaltens, auf dass sie mit dem Volke gleich würden.

4. Da sagte Ich zu ihnen: „Redet nichts als die Wahrheit, wie es war, und wie es geschah, und berufet euch auf die Zeugen, deren ihr hier eine ziemliche Menge habt, und es wird euch darum kein Haar gekrümmt! Dann aber fasset Meine neue Lehre auf, und traget sie dann euren Menschen vor, und sie werden sich alle dessen hoch erfreuen, so sie endlich einmal ganz andere Menschen und Lehrer ersehen werden, als es bisher je der Fall war! Meinet ihr denn, dass euch eure eurem Tempel zuständigen Menschen irgend mehr etwas geglaubt haben? Ich sage es euch: unter Hunderten nicht zwei mehr! Sie liefen euch nur aus alter Gewohnheit zu und ergötzten sich an eurer Spektakelmacherei; aber geglaubt hat euch schon lange beinahe kein Mensch mehr ein Wort! Ihr habt also hiermit nichts verloren, sondern nur vielfach gewonnen.

5. Wie aber Meine Lehre lautet, das werden euch Meine Jünger bis gen Abend hin gar leicht beibringen und euch auch sagen, wie ihr es anzufangen habt, um sie dem Volke beizubringen. Aber vor allem müsset ihr auch das tun, was die Lehre verlangt; denn erst dadurch könnet ihr zur Vollendung des Lebens gelangen und in solcher dann auch tun, was Ich nun tue und so ihr ganz vollkommen werdet, auch noch Grösseres und mehreres.

6. Denn der wahre, grosse, einige Gott hat den Menschen nicht erschaffen, dass er, den Tieren gleich, nur tätig sei wegen der Befriedigung seiner natürlichen Bedürfnisse, sondern vielmehr der inneren, geistigen wegen. Und wer im Geistigen tätig wird und übt durch Wissen, Glauben und Tat des Geistes Kräfte, der wird im Geiste auch stark und mächtig werden.

7. Wer aber da vor allem des Geistes Kräfte übt, der erbaut in sich das Reich Gottes, und das ist im Menschen dann das wahre, ewige Leben, Gott, dem Schöpfer, verwandt und in allen Eigenschaften ähnlich.

8. Hat der Mensch aber solchen seligsten Lebenszustand in sich erreicht und seinen Willen mit dem erkannten Willen Gottes geeint, so kann er auch alles tun, was Gott tut, und er ist also in sich ein Herr des Lebens und ein mächtiger Gebieter über alle Kräfte der Natur. Dass ihr solches nun noch nicht völlig verstehen werdet, das sehe Ich; so aber Meine Jünger euch näher belehren werden, da werdet ihr auch das, was Ich euch nun gesagt habe, heller begreifen denn jetzt.“

1. Naturally the tax collector Jored invited the five Greek priests (three priests of Apollo, one of Zeus, and another of Minerva) to the midday meal as well, an invitation they politely accepted, and they sat down at our table. During the meal, according to Greek custom, not much, or nothing at all even, was said; but after the meal, once the wine had loosened the participants’ tongues, the talking commenced, and soon the table grew quite lively.

2. However, the five priests merely listened, speaking very little, for from the conversations with the disciples and the other guests they clandestinely wished to glean who I actually was and from whence I came, though nothing of the sort came to light throughout the conversations with all the different guests.

3. In time the five ran out of patience, and they began to ask if they could say something, namely about their future priestly behaviour, so they could balance themselves towards the people.

4. That is when I said to them: “Speak nothing but the truth, the way it was and how it happened, and call upon the witnesses, of which you have a surplus here, and thus will no hand be laid upon you! But then accept My new doctrine and preach it to your people, and they will rejoice in seeing completely different people for a change, completely different teachers than was the case until now! Are you under the impression that the members of your temple believed anything you said? I say to you: Among hundreds, no more than two! They joined you merely out of old habits, basking in the spectacle you conceived; but for quite a long time now, nobody believes a word you say! Thus have you lost nothing herewith, and instead you have gained much.

5. But what My doctrine is all about, My disciples will teach you quite easily until evening, and they will also instruct you on how you must go about teaching it to the people. However, above all, you too must do what the doctrine demands, for only thereby may you attain the consummation of life, doing therein what I am doing now, and upon becoming perfect through and through, you will do even greater things.

6. The true, great, and only God did not create man for him to be solely active for the satisfaction of his physical needs, like the animals do, but rather much more for the inner, spiritual needs. He who becomes active in spirit and exercises the powers of the spirit through knowledge, faith and deed, will become strong and mighty in spirit as well.

7. Whoever exercises the powers of the spirit above all else, erects within himself the kingdom of God, and that will be, within man, the true, everlasting life, akin in all its characteristics to God the Creator.

8. Once man has attained this most blissful state of life, having unified his will with the recognized will of God, he will then do all that God is doing, and thus he is a lord of life, a mighty arbiter over all the forces of nature. I can see that you will not completely understand all of this as of yet, though should My disciples instruct you more thoroughly, you will then comprehend more clearly what I have told you just now.”
