26. Predigt von Jesus… Jesus und Seine Kinder

Johannes 14:23
“Wer mich liebet, der wird mein Wort halten; und mein Vater wird ihn lieben, und wir werden zu ihm kommen und Wohnung bei ihm machen.”

01. Diesen Vers zu erklären genügen wenige Worte; denn es ist ganz natürlich, wenn jemand für einen andern eine Zuneigung hat und dieser noch höher gestellt und weiser ist, daß dann der erste alles mögliche tun wird, um sich die Achtung und Liebe seines höhergestellten Freundes oder Herrn zu verdienen. Er wird seine Zuneigung und Liebe durch Taten zu beweisen suchen und genau nach den Lehren und Ratschlägen des höhergestellten Freundes oder Lehrers handeln. Wenn dieses der Fall ist, so wird die Zuneigung des einen durch die Liebe des andern erwidert, und es wird dadurch ein geistiges Einvernehmen hervorgerufen, wie bei in Eintracht lebenden Familiengliedern.

02. Das ist ungefähr der Sinn dieser Worte, die Ich einst zu Meinen Jüngern sagte, und die eine Mahnung waren, auch noch nach Meinem Hingang, nachdem kein sichtbarer Einfluß durch Meine Worte und Taten mehr möglich war, auf dieser einmal eingeschlagenen Bahn zu verharren und aus Liebe zu Mir Mein Wort zu halten und danach zu leben. Ich sagte dieses Meinen Jüngern wohlweislich im voraus, weil Ich wußte, welchen Versuchungen und Einflüssen der Welt sie bei Ausführung ihrer Mission entgegengingen.

03. Deswegen machte Ich sie auch auf einen Punkt aufmerksam, den sie noch nicht begriffen hatten, nämlich, daß Ich und der Vater eins sind, und daß derjenige, der Mich sah, auch den Vater gesehen hat; denn wie Ich schon in einer früheren Texterklärung erwähnt habe – sie dachten noch immer zu menschlich. Sie konnten sich eine geistige Welt, einen geistigen Einfluß und ein geistiges, höheres Wesen, wie Ich eines bin, in körperlicher Hülle nicht recht vorstellen. Manchmal glaubten sie wohl, jetzt hätten sie diesen Begriff ganz richtig aufgefaßt; doch blieb ihnen diese Stimmung nicht. Wenn sie Gefahr lief, sich ganz zu verlieren, so mußte Ich sie auffrischen und wieder in ihrem Herzen rege machen, zumal in jener Zeit, in der die letzten Augenblicke heranrückten, die Mir die bittersten waren und auch ihnen die härtesten Schläge versetzten, da sie nie für möglich gehalten hätten, was nun vor ihren Augen geschah.

04. Deswegen versprach Ich ihnen einen Tröster und machte ihnen den Gedanken des Verlustes Meiner sichtbaren Person so leicht erträglich wie möglich.

05. Was Ich dort zu Meinen Jüngern sagte, das gilt auch in fernen Zeiten für alle diejenigen, die ebenfalls den rechten Weg des Glaubens und der Liebe einschlagen; denn alle Menschen, die Mich wahrhaft lieben wollen, bewahrheiten dieses eigentlich nur dann, wenn sie Meine Worte halten und befolgen.

06. Das Befolgen Meiner Worte, das Beweisen durch Taten ist erst der Probierstein, ob es den Menschen ernst ist, Mir auf dem Wege der Demütigung und Selbstverleugnung, den Ich selbst vorangegangen bin, zu folgen, indem sie, alle Annehmlichkeiten der materiellen Welt dahintenlassend, den Blick nur nach dem geistigen, aber ewigen Weltreich richten.

07. Viele gibt es auf dieser Welt, die das Wort ,Mich lieben` gar nicht verstehen oder es nur so deuten möchten, wie es ihnen bequem ist; mit diesen aber bin Ich nicht. Ich werde und kann nicht, weder als Sohn noch als Vater, in ihren Herzen Wohnung nehmen; denn darin ist der größte Platz den weltlichen Sorgen eingeräumt. Und es wird von ihnen Meiner und Meiner Lehre nur dann gedacht, wenn etwa ein kirchlicher Feiertag oder bittere Erfahrungen gelangen werden, daß ihr so gleichsam nur Liebäugeln mit Mir von keinem Wert und Nutzen ist, sondern daß man entweder sich Mir ganz ergeben oder in der Folge der Welt verfallen muß.

08. Solchen Menschen, die Mich nur so zur Not neben den Weltgeschäften herlaufen lassen, solchen Menschen kann Ich freilich nicht das Versprechen erfüllen, in ihrem Herzen zu wohnen; denn sie lieben Mich nicht, wie die Liebe zu Mir beschaffen sein sollte. Sie haben nur eine Art von Wohlwollen für Meine Lehre und für Meine Person übrig, wobei sie noch im Zweifel sind, ob diese besteht -, weil Ich durch Mein Wort ihnen nur Gutes rate und ihr Bestes will. Allein, sich ganz Mir hinzugeben, Mir und Meinen Fügungen alles aufzuopfern, so weit wollen sie ihre Liebe nicht ausdehnen; denn da müßten sie gar vielen weltlichen Vergnügungen und Genüssen entsagen, was nach ihrer Meinung doch nicht angeht, da man einmal in dieser Welt sei und – wie sie sich entschuldigen – mit ihr leben müsse.

09. Diese Menschen – und es gibt deren Millionen – haben noch einen weiten Weg von herben Erfahrungen zu machen, bis sie zu der Einsicht gelangen werden, daß ihr so gleichsam nur Liebäugeln mit Mir von keinem Wert und Nutzen ist, sondern daß man entweder sich Mir ganz ergeben oder in der Folge der Welt verfallen muß.

10. Überall werden sie Ruhe und Frieden suchen, alles anklagen, Mich, die Natur, die Verhältnisse oder das Schicksal, wie sie es nennen werden; aber nur sich selbst werden sie als Urheber ihres eigenen Unglücks nie erkennen wollen. So wird ihr Schicksal sein: kein Tröster, kein Friedensstifter wird zu ihnen kommen können, weil sie nicht begreifen, daß er nicht von außen hinein, sondern nur von innen heraus den Frieden herstellen kann.

11. Wenn ihr jetzt die Welt stets ärger, stets schlechter werden seht, wenn die Menschen stets unzufriedener, stets mißmutiger, stets grausamer, stets egoistischer werden, so ist überall der Grund der, daß niemand den eigentlichen Weg zum Frieden, zur Genügsamkeit und zum völligen Ergeben in Meine Führung mehr erkennt. Je mehr dieses Haschen nach flüchtigen Weltgütern und mächtigen Stellungen fortgeht, desto mehr entfernen sich die Menschen von dem eigentlichen Quell aller besseren Tugenden, und selbst das Wort ,Liebe` ist ihnen nur insofern bekannt, als es sich auf ihre irdischen Genüsse bezieht, denen sie mit aller Hast nachjagen, und die sie um jeden Preis erringen wollen.

12. Hier seht ihr die Quelle vieler Selbstmorde, als Folge von Überdruß, weil das Erwünschte sich nicht erreichen ließ. Es ist dies auch der Beweis, wie wenig in solchen Herzen von Religion oder von dem Begriff eines ewigen, geistigen Lebens vorhanden ist, wo Vergeltung für Gutes und Böses den Dahingeschiedenen erwartet, indem er in solche Lagen versetzt wird, in denen er, auf sich selbst beschränkt, alles Schlechte und Falsche aus seinem Innern ausmerzen muß, bevor er eine bessere Stellung im Geisterreiche erhalten kann.

13. Unter solchen Menschen ist natürlich denjenigen, welche wirklich Mir leben, Mir folgen und durch Taten Mir beweisen wollen, daß sie Mich lieben, das Fortschreiten bedeutend erschwert, weil sie gegen die Meinung der Mehrzahl ankämpfen müssen und, wie einst Meine Jünger, für das Segenverbreiten nur Haß und Spott ernten.

14. Aber dieses Kämpfen, dieses Streiten gegen den mächtigen Strom der materiellen Welt, das auch Meiner Jünger Los war, dieses Kämpfen ist notwendig, um Meine Kindschaft zu erreichen. Denn wenn es nicht Gott, das höchste Wesen wäre, das euch zu Seinen Kindern erziehen will, so wäre es nach menschlichen Begriffen und Forderungen schon genügend, wenn ihr so wie die große Mehrzahl der Menschen lebtet, d.h. wenn ihr Mir die Ehre zollet, euch wohl die besten Lehren gegeben zu haben, es aber euch überlassen bliebe, wie und wann ihr diese bequem mit euren weltlichen Bedürfnissen vereinbaren wolltet.

15. Aber so habe Ich es nicht gemeint, als Ich damals Meinen Jüngern: “Wer Mich liebt, der wird Mein Wort halten!”, und wie Ich euch auch jetzt wieder zurufe: “Wer Mich liebt, der muß es durch Taten beweisen!”

16. Wie Meine Jünger in jener Zeit entweder Heiden oder fanatische Juden vor sich hatten, denen sie Mein Evangelium predigen mußten, so habt ihr jetzt ebenfalls Heiden, Ungläubige, fanatische Buchstabenausleger und beschränkte Zeremonienreiter vor euch, von denen die ersten gar nichts glauben, weil es ihnen so besser zusagt, und die andern mit dem Halten des Religionskultus alles getan zu haben glauben, was sie Mir schuldig sind.

17. Wie Ich einst Meinen Jüngern versprach, ihnen den Tröster zu schicken, der sie führen und leiten wird, wenn sie überall Schwierigkeiten und Hindernissen begegnen, so wird es auch jetzt denjenigen ergehen, welche Mich im wahren Sinne lieben und Mein Wort halten wollen.

18. Wäre dies nicht die Verheißung Gottes, der alles Erduldete reichlich vergelten will, so wäre es entschuldbar, wenn selbst die Eifrigsten in ihrer Mission scheiterten und die Hoffnung verlören, auch nur den kleinsten Teil der Menschheit vom gänzlichen Verderben zu retten. Da aber Ich als Schöpfer, Herr und Vater die Zügel der ganzen Welt in der Hand habe, so werde Ich auch, wie Ich es Meinen Jüngern versprach, bei denjenigen wohnen, die Mich lieben und Mein Wort halten, d.h. Ich werde ihr Ratgeber und Führer sein. Ich werde ihnen die reifen Seelen in den Weg führen, die durch bittere Schläge zugänglich und mürbe gemacht worden sind, welche die Vergänglichkeit der Welt gekostet haben, und sich nach Besserem sehnen.

19. Ich werde Meine jetzigen Jünger im Glauben und festen Vertrauen in Meine Fügungen stets mehr bestärken, werde ihnen durch Mein Wohnen in ihren Herzen Ersatz geben für alles, was sie Meinet und Meiner Lehre wegen erdulden müssen, damit sie mitten im trüben Gewirr aller menschlichen Leidenschaften die klare Fernsicht behalten und das Ziel ihrer Aufgabe nicht aus den Augen verlieren. Daher folgt unverdrossen Meinen Worten und Meiner Lehre!

20. Wißt ihr, warum Ich selbst nun durch Meine Knechte und Schreiber euch Meinen Willen mitteile?

21. Der Grund, daß schon seit mehreren Jahren Meine direkten Mitteilungen reichlicher fließen als in früheren Zeiten, und daß Ich euch so viel Himmelsbrot gebe, wie es seit Meinem irdischen Lebenswandel nie geschehen ist, ist der, weil gerade jetzt der Zeitpunkt sich nähert, an dem die Welt ihren Gipfelpunkt in den Verirrungen und im Abweichen von Meinen Schöpfungszwecken erreichen wird. Damit nun – zumal dies Meine Wiederkunft bedingt – nicht alle Menschen verlorengehen, so habe Ich bestimmt, daß von nun an einzelnen, wie einst Meinen Jüngern, Mein Wort und Meine Lehre unverfälscht zukommen soll, nicht verschleiert wie in den Propheten, sondern klar und verständlich, wie Meine Jünger es einst die Völker lehrten.

22. Dort war das Verbreiten der Lehre schwieriger; heute aber ist durch eure Erfindung der Buchdruckerkunst das Verbreiten Meiner Lehre bei weitem leichter, so daß überallhin, wo die Finsternis der weltlichen Macht sich geltend machen will, der Schein Meines ewigen Liebe und Gnadenlichts dringen kann.

23. Ich will jetzt dem Ungläubigen die Augen öffnen und den Buchstabenauslegern Meiner Bibel den eigentlichen Sinn erklären, damit niemand sich entschuldigen könne, als hätte er nichts davon gewußt, und durch diese Ausrede Mich beschuldigen möchte, während doch die ganze Schuld auf ihn selbst fallen wird.

24. Daher seid stark, ihr wenigen, die ihr zerstreut in verschiedenen Gauen noch Meine Perlen im eigenen Herzen bewahret! Vertraut auf Mich! Ich wohne bei und in euch, Ich werde euch führen und nicht verlassen, solange ihr Mich liebt und Mein Wort haltet. Euch habe Ich alles – Mein Ich, Meine Schöpfung und das Verhältnis des Menschen zu beiden – durch viele Worte klar gezeigt. Für euch gibt es keinen Entschuldigungsgrund, als hättet ihr es nicht gewußt. Nur das eine ist noch bei manchen von euch der Fall, daß sie Mein Wort nicht in der größten geistigen Tiefe auffassen. Doch dazu werde Ich euch schon Meinen Tröster und heiligen Geist in Form von bitteren Erfahrungen und Zweifeln schicken, um auch diese letzte Schattenseite aus den Herzen Meiner Ergebenen zu entfernen; denn wer berufen ist, einst auf andere zu wirken, der muß in sich selbst fest sein und genau wissen, was er zu tun und was er zu lassen hat.

25. Meine Worte sind einfach und klar, nur dürfen nicht die Selbstliebe der Dolmetscher und falsche Ausleger dabei sein; denn sonst würde von euch manches entschuldigt, was bei Mir nicht vergeben werden kann.

26. Daher prüfet euch wohl! Bedenket: Ich treibe keinen Scherz mit euch und will auch nicht, daß ihr mit Mir nur so gelegentlich verhandelt, wie es euch gerade genehm ist!

27. Ernst ist das Leben und heilig Meine Sache! Hinter diesem flüchtigen, irdischen Scheinleben steht ein ewiges, wahres Leben, in dem keine Ausflüchte, keine Entschuldigungen gelten können und dürfen; denn es ist das Reich des wahren Gottes, der nur eine Wahrheit und die Liebe zu ihr kennt.

28. Darum befleißigt euch, Mich zu lieben und Mein Wort zu halten! Ihr tut damit den größten Dienst euch selbst; denn ihr erkämpft euch durch diese Liebe das ruhige Bewußtsein der edlen Tat und eine bessere Stellung und ein leichteres Fortschreiten im Jenseits.

29. Ich bin kein strenger Richter, kein zürnender Gott und will auch keiner sein. Ich bin – wie Ich es euch oft gesagt habe – ein liebender Vater, ein voraussehender Hirte, der seine Schafe auf gute Weideplätze und weit weg von jenen Gegenden führen möchte, wo Abgründe oder sonstige Hindernisse ihrem geistigen Leben Gefahr bringen könnten.

30. Ich will nur das Gute, weil Ich die Güte selbst bin! Ich will nur die Liebe, weil Ich die Liebe selbst bin, und Ich will euch zu geistigen, höheren Wesen machen, weil Ich als das höchste geistige Wesen selbst nur solche Kinder um Mich haben möchte, die Mir und Meinem Reiche Ehre machen und ihren Frieden und ihre Freude nur in Mir suchen.

31. Dies bezeugt das Wort, das Ich einst Meinen Jüngern sagte: “Wer Mich liebt, der wird Mein Wort halten!”

32. Haltet also Mein Wort und macht euch Meiner Liebe würdig, und das Wort im Evangelium ist auch an euch erfüllt! Amen.

26th Sermon of Jesus… The Lord and His Children
(March 24, 1872)

John 14:23
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

A few words suffice to explain this verse, for it is quite natural that a man having an affection for somebody else, who is in a higher position and wiser, will do everything possible to gain the esteem and love of his higher-ranking friend or master. He will seek to prove his affection and love through acting in accordance with his higher-ranking friend’s or teacher’s instructions and advice. If this is the case, the affection of the one will be requited by the other’s love. Thereby a spiritual understanding is created as among members of a family who live in harmony with each other.

That is the approximate meaning of these words I once spoke to My disciples and which were an admonition to adhere to the once chosen path also after I had gone, when a visible influence through My words and deeds was no longer possible and to keep My Word and live accordingly out of love for Me. I said this to My disciples deliberately in advance, since I knew to what temptations and influences by the world they would be subjected in the execution of their mission. On account of this I also called their attention to one point which they had not comprehended as yet, namely, that I and the Father are One and that he who saw Me had also seen the Father, for – as already mentioned in an earlier text interpretation – their thinking was still too human. They were still unable to grasp the idea of a spiritual world, a spiritual influence and a higher spiritual being, as I was, in a physical body. Sometimes they did believe that they had correctly understood this concept, but this conviction did not last. Whenever it was in danger of being entirely lost, I had to revive it and once more stir it up in their hearts, particularly during the time when the last moments were approaching, moments which were the most bitter for Me and dealt them a very hard blow, since what was happening before their eyes they would never have thought possible. Therefore, I promised them a Comforter and made the thought of the loss of My visible person as bearable as possible to them.

What I then said to My disciples is also valid for the future for all those who likewise take the right path of faith and love. For, all people who honestly want to love Me, actually prove this only by keeping and following My words.

Following My words and proving this through actions is, in fact, the touchstone for whether people are serious in their wish to follow Me along the path of meekness and self-denial upon which I Myself have led the way, leaving behind all the comforts of the material world, turning their eyes only towards the spiritual, eternal realm.

There are many in this world who do not at all understand the meaning of the words “to love Me” or they are inclined to interpret them in a way that suits them best; however, with those I am not. I shall not and cannot, neither as the Son nor as the Father, make My abode in their hearts, for in them the largest space is occupied by worldly cares. And they only think of Me and My teaching when they are reminded either by a church-holiday or bitter experiences and accidents that besides the material there is also a spiritual world and above both there is a ruler, sustainer and leader who, in spite of being neglected, still allows Himself to be found by man as a loving Father.

To such people, who barely suffer Me to walk alongside their worldly affairs, I cannot fulfil the promise to make My abode in their hearts, for they do not love Me the way their love for Me should be. Because I only want their best and give them good advice through My Word, they have a kind of benevolence for My teaching and for My person, still with an element of doubt as to whether I, as a person, really exist. Therefore, to give themselves entirely to Me and submit in everything to Me and My ordinances, – that far they do not want to extend their love. For, then they would have to renounce many worldly pleasures and enjoyments which, in their opinion, could not be done, since one is living in this world and has to live with it.
These people – and there are millions of them – have still to cover a long road of bitter experiences until they will come to understand that – so to speak – casting glamorous eyes at Me is of no value and use, but that one either must surrender to Me completely or fall to the world.

They will seek rest and peace everywhere and they will blame everything – Me, nature, circumstances or fate, as they call it. But they will never recognize themselves as the cause of their own misfortune. As a result, their fate will be this: No Comforter, no Peacemaker will be able to come to them because they fail to understand that peace cannot be established from the outer world to within, but can only go forth from their inner being.

When you see the world getting more and more wicked and evil, when people keep becoming more dissatisfied and discontent, more cruel and selfish, the reason for this is that no one recognizes the true road to peace and contentment any more, namely, complete submission to My guidance. The longer this hunt for transient worldly possessions and influential positions continues, the more do people stray from the actual source of all the better virtues, and even the concept “love” is known to them only insofar as it refers to earthly enjoyments after which they chase impetuously to obtain them at any cost.

Here you see the source of many suicides as the result of disgust, because what was desired could not be obtained. This also proves how little there is in such hearts of religion or of the concept of an eternal spiritual life, where a reward for good and evil awaits the deceased who will find himself in situations where, restricted to himself, he will have to eradicate all that is evil and wrong within him, before he can ever gain a better position in the realm of the spirits.

For those people who really live for Me, follow Me and want to prove by their actions that they love Me, progress is, of course, considerably obstructed because they have to struggle against the opinion of the majority, reaping only hatred and derision for the blessing they spread, as was once the case with My disciples.

However, this struggling, this fight against the powerful current of the material world, which was also the lot of My disciples, this struggling is necessary in order to attain the filial relationship to Me. For, if it were not God, the Supreme Being, Who wants to educate you to become His children, -by human standards and requirements it would be sufficient to live as the great majoritiy of people do, that is, to give Me tribute for having given you the best teachings but, otherwise, it be left to you how and when to conveniently adapt them to your worldly needs.

But I did not mean it that way, when in those days I said to My disciples: “If a man love Me he will keep My Word!”, and when again today I call to you: “If a man loves Me, he must prove it by his deeds!”

As in those days My disciples had before them either heathen or fanatical Jews to whom they had to preach My Gospel, you today likewise have heathen or unbelievers, fanatical literalists and narrow-minded ceremonialists. The former do not believe in anything, because it suits them that way, and the latter believe to have done everything they owe Me by keeping the religious ceremonial.

As I once promised My disciples to send them the Comforter that would lead and guide them when they met only difficulties and obstacles everywhere, it will also happen now with those who love Me in the truest sense and want to keep My Word.

If this were not the promise of God Who wants to reward men abundantly for all they have endured, it might be excusable if even the most zealous failed in their mission and lost every hope to save even a small part of humanity from complete perdition. But since I, as Creator, Lord and Father, am holding in My hands the reins of the entire world, I shall – as I once promised My disciples – make My abode with those who love Me and obey My Word, that is, I shall be their counselor and guide. I shall lead those mature souls to them who have been made pliable through severe blows, have tasted the transitoriness of the world, and who are now longing for something better.

I shall increasingly fortify My present disciples in their faith and firm trust in My providence and, by dwelling in their hearts, compensate them for everything they must suffer because of Me and My teaching, so that they, in the midst of the sad confusion of all the human passions, may retain their clear perspective and not lose sight of the object of their mission. Therefore, do follow My words and teaching persistently!

Do you know why I, Myself, communicate to you My will through My servants and scribes?

The reason why My direct messages have been flowing more abundantly during the past few years than they did in former times and why I am giving you so much bread from the heavens, as has not happened since I lived on earth, is the fact that the time is now approaching when the world will reach its culmination in erring and deviation from My original crea-tional purpose. Lest all men be lost, I have ordained – and this is required for My Second Coming – that from now on My Word and teaching shall be given to a few in an unadulterated form, as I once gave it to My disciples, not veiled as in the prophets, but as clear and comprehensible as My disciples once taught it to the people.

In those days the spreading of My teaching was more difficult, but today, through the invention of the art of printing, the spreading of My teaching is by far easier, so that the brilliance of My eternal light of love and grace can be carried to wherever the darkness of the worldly power threatens to assert itself.

Now I will open the eyes of the unbelievers and explain to the literalists the true meaning of My Bible, so that nobody can use the exuse that he had not known the truth and could blame me whilst he alone is to blame.

Therefore, be strong you few who, scattered throughout the countries, are still keeping My pearls in your hearts! Put your trust in Me! I dwell near and within you, and I shall guide you and stand by you as long as you love Me and keep My Word.
Through many communications I have revealed to you everything: Myself, My creation and man’s relationship to both. For you there is no excuse that you had not known it. Only some of you do not yet grasp the deepest spiritual meaning of My Word. But I shall send My Comforter and Holy Spirit in the form of bitter experiences and doubts in order to remove also this last dark side from the hearts of those devoted to Me, for he who is called to influence others must be firm in himself and know exactly what to do and what not to do.

My words are simple and clear, provided they are not interpreted and wrongly expounded by self- love; for in that case, many a thing would be excused by you which cannot be forgiven by Me. Therefore, test yourselves carefully! Consider this: I do not make sport of you and I do not want you to deal with Me only once in a while when it suits you.

Life is earnest and My cause is sacred. Behind this fleeting, deceptive earthly life, there is an eternal, true life, in which no subterfuge, no excuses can or will be valid, for it is the kingdom of the true God Who knows only one truth and the love of it.

So be diligent in loving Me and keeping My Word! Thereby you are rendering yourselves the greatest service; for through this love you gain the calm consciousness of the noble deed and a better position and easier progress in the beyond.

I am not a harsh judge or angry God and I do not want to be such. As I have often told you, I am a loving Father, a provident shepherd who would like to lead his sheep to good pastures, far away from those regions where abysses or other obstacles could endanger their spiritual life.

I only want what is good because I, Myself, am goodness. I only want love because I, Myself, am love. And I want to make of you spiritual, higher beings because I, as the Supreme Spiritual Being, want to have only such children around Me who are a credit to My Kingdom and seek their peace and joy only in Me.

This is meant by the words which I once spoke to My disciples: “If a man love Me, he will keep My Word!”

Therefore, do keep My Word and make yourselves worthy of My love, and the words in the Gospel will be fulfilled also for you. Amen.

Predica 26… Il Signore e i Suoi figli

Rivelazioni – Ricevute tramite la Parola interiore da Gottfried Mayerhofer

«Chi mi ama, costui osserverà la mia parola; e il Padre mio lo amerà, e noi verremo a lui e prenderemo dimora presso di lui”».

(Il 24 marzo 1872)

1. Per spiegare questo versetto bastano poche parole; poiché è del tutto naturale, quando uno ha un affetto verso un altro, e costui è anche di posizione più elevata ed è più saggio, che il primo faccia tutto il possibile per guadagnarsi il rispetto e l’amore del suo amico, o signore di posizione più elevata. Egli cercherà di mostrare il suo affetto e il suo amore con i fatti, e di agire esattamente secondo gli insegnamenti e i consigli dell’amico, o maestro di posizione più elevata. Se questo è il caso, l’affetto dell’uno sarà ricambiato con l’amore dell’altro, e s’instaurerà un’intesa spirituale, come presso i membri di una famiglia, viventi in armonia.

2. Questo è pressappoco il senso di tali parole che Io espressi ai Miei discepoli, come monito a perseverare su questa strada, una volta intrapresa, anche dopo la Mia dipartita, quando non sarebbe stato più possibile nessun influsso visibile attraverso le Mie parole e le Mie opere, e per amor Mio restare fedeli e vivere in conformità. Prudentemente, Io dissi in anticipo questo ai Miei discepoli, perché sapevo a quali tentazioni e a quali influssi del mondo essi sarebbero andati incontro, nell’adempimento della loro missione.

3. Perciò li resi attenti anche su un punto che essi ancora non avevano compreso, vale a dire che Io e il Padre siamo Uno, e che chiunque avesse visto Me, aveva visto anche il Padre. Come Io già ho accennato in un testo precedente, essi pensavano ancora troppo umanamente, e non riuscivano a immaginarsi giustamente un mondo spirituale, un influsso spirituale e un Essere spirituale superiori, nell’involucro corporeo, quali Io rappresento nella Mia Unità. A volte essi credevano di aver afferrato nel modo giusto questo concetto; però, tale disposizione d’animo non rimaneva in loro. Ogni qual volta essa incorreva nel pericolo di perdersi completamente, allora Io dovevo ravvivarla e renderla di nuovo vivente nel loro cuore, tanto più in quel tempo nel quale si avvicinavano gli ultimi momenti che per Me furono i più amari, e cagionarono i più duri colpi anche a loro, poiché mai avrebbero ritenuto possibile accadesse ciò che, invece, stava accadendo dinanzi ai loro occhi.

4. Per questo Io promisi un Consolatore, per rendere loro sopportabile quanto più possibile il pensiero della perdita della Mia Persona visibile.

5. Quello che dissi lì, ai Miei discepoli, vale anche nei tempi successivi per tutti coloro che altrettanto hanno intrapreso la giusta via della Fede e dell’Amore; tutti gli uomini, infatti, che vogliono amarMi davvero, realizzano questo, veramente e solo, quando si attengono alle Mie parole e le osservano.

6. L’osservanza delle Mie parole, la testimonianza con i fatti, è solo la pietra di paragone, se essi seriamente s’impegnano a seguirMi sulla via dell’umiliazione e dell’abnegazione che Io stesso, precedendoli, ho percorso, lasciando indietro tutte le comodità del mondo materiale, e volgendo lo sguardo solo allo spirituale ed eterno Regno.

7. Ci sono molti in questo mondo che non comprendono per niente la parola ‘amarMi’, oppure vorrebbero interpretarla solo così come fa loro comodo; ma Io non sono con costoro. Io non potrò prendere dimora nei loro cuori, né come Figlio, né come Padre; in questo, infatti, è concesso il più grande spazio alle cure del mondo. Essi pensano a Me e alla Mia Dottrina solo quando una festività ecclesiastica, oppure amare esperienze e disavventure, rammentano loro che oltre al mondo materiale c’è un mondo spirituale, e dietro questo, il Governatore, Conservatore e Guida di entrambi, il quale, pur nella noncuranza degli uomini, si manifesta sempre come Padre affezionato.

8. A tali uomini, che Mi tengono solo per necessità accanto agli affari del mondo, Io non posso certamente adempiere la promessa di dimorare nel loro cuore; essi, infatti, non Mi amano come dovrebbe essere provvisto l’amore per Me. Essi hanno solo una specie di benevolenza per la Mia Dottrina e per la Mia Persona – facendo la qual cosa, sono ancora in dubbio se questa esista – perché con la Mia Parola Io consiglio loro solo il bene, e voglio il loro meglio. Abbandonarsi però totalmente a Me, sacrificare tutto a Me e alle Mie disposizioni, fino a tanto non vogliono estendere il loro amore; poiché in tal caso dovrebbero rinunciare a moltissimi diletti e piaceri mondani che, secondo la loro opinione, non è possibile lasciare, giacché ci si trova in questo mondo e – come loro si scusano – si deve vivere con esso.

9. Questi uomini – e ce ne sono a milioni – avranno ancora davanti una lunga via di amare esperienze, prima di giungere alla comprensione che il loro fare, per così dire, l’occhiolino con Me, non ha nessun senso e nessun valore, bensì che ci si deve abbandonare, o completamente a Me, o al seguito del mondo.

10. Ovunque essi cercheranno quiete e pace, accuseranno tutto e tutti, Me, la natura, le circostanze o il destino, in qualunque maniera lo vogliano chiamare, ma non vorranno mai riconoscere se stessi come gli autori della loro sventura. Così il loro destino sarà: nessun Consolatore, e nessun rappacificatore potrà raggiungerli, se non comprendono che questi non potrà ristabilire la pace dall’esterno all’interno, bensì solo dall’interno all’esterno.

11. Se adesso vedrete il mondo farsi sempre più brutto e più cattivo, e ovunque gli uomini diventare sempre più insoddisfatti, più scontenti, più spietati, più egoisti, sarà perché nessuno riconosce più la vera e propria via della pace, della moderazione e del pieno abbandono alla Mia conduzione. Quanto più continuerà questo cercar di afferrare i beni fugaci del mondo e le posizioni di potere, tanto più gli uomini si allontaneranno dalla vera e propria Sorgente di tutte le migliori virtù, e perfino la parola ‘amore’ sarà loro nota solo perché riferita ai loro piaceri mondani, ai quali essi danno la caccia affannosamente, e che vogliono raggiungere a ogni costo.

12. Qui vedrete la fonte di molti suicidi, come conseguenza del disgusto per non aver raggiunto quanto desiderato. Questa sarà anche la prova di come sia poco presente in tali cuori il concetto di religione, o di un’eterna vita spirituale, dove una ricompensa per il bene e per il male attende loro con il trapasso; mentre il suicida sarà messo in situazioni tali, in cui egli, limitato a se stesso, dovrà estirpare tutto il cattivo e il falso dal proprio interiore, prima di poter ottenere una posizione migliore nel regno degli spiriti.

13. Naturalmente, tra tali uomini sarà reso molto difficile il progresso per coloro che vogliono veramente vivere con Me, seguirMi e dimostrarMi con le opere che Mi amano, poiché essi dovranno combattere contro l’opinione della maggioranza e, come un giorno i Miei discepoli, raccogliere solo odio e scherno in cambio delle diffuse benedizioni.

14. Questa lotta, però, questa battaglia contro il potente influsso del mondo materiale, che fu anche il destino dei Miei discepoli, è necessaria per raggiungere la Mia figliolanza. Se, infatti, non fosse Dio, l’Essere supremo che vuole allevarvi per fare di voi i figli Suoi, allora secondo i concetti e le esigenze umane sarebbe già abbastanza che voi viveste come la grande maggioranza degli uomini, vale a dire, che Mi tributaste gli onori per avervi dato i migliori insegnamenti, ma lasciandovi liberi di decidere come e quando conciliare questi insegnamenti con le vostre esigenze mondane.

15. Io però non pensavo così, quando a quel tempo dissi ai Miei discepoli: «Chi Mi ama, questi osserverà la Mia Parola!» [Giov. 14,21], e anche adesso, Io vi dico di nuovo: “Chi Mi ama, questi deve dimostrarlo con i fatti!”.

16. Come i Miei discepoli a quel tempo avevano a che fare o con i pagani, oppure con fanatici giudei, ai quali dovevano predicare il Mio Vangelo, così anche voi adesso avrete a che fare altrettanto con pagani, increduli, interpreti fanatici della scrittura, limitati fedeli delle cerimonie, dei quali i primi non crederanno del tutto, perché così conviene loro, e gli altri con l’osservanza del culto religioso, riterranno di aver fatto tutto ciò che Mi è dovuto.

17. Come Io promisi un giorno ai Miei discepoli di inviare loro il Consolatore, che li avrebbe guidati ovunque si fossero imbattuti in difficoltà e ostacoli, così accadrà anche adesso a coloro che Mi vorranno amare nel senso vero e proprio, e vorranno osservare la Mia Parola.

18. Se questa non fosse la promessa di Dio, il Quale vuole abbondantemente ricompensare tutto il sopportato, allora sarebbe scusabile se perfino i più zelanti fallissero nella loro missione, e perdessero la speranza di salvare dalla rovina totale anche soltanto la più piccola parte dell’umanità. Ma poiché Io, quale Creatore, Signore e Padre, ho in mano le redini del mondo intero, dimorerò anche presso quelli che Mi amano e osservano la Mia Parola, come promisi ai Miei discepoli, e sarò il loro Consigliere e la loro Guida. Io condurrò sulla via le loro anime mature, le quali attraverso amari colpi saranno state rese accessibili e ammorbidite, avendo assaporato la fugacità del mondo e bramato ardentemente di migliorarsi.

19. Io rafforzerò sempre più i Miei attuali discepoli nella Fede e nella ferma Fiducia nei Miei voleri, darò loro, col Mio dimorare nel loro cuore, indennizzo per tutto ciò che dovranno sopportare a causa Mia e della Mia Dottrina, affinché, nel mezzo della torbida confusione di tutte le passioni umane, essi mantengano la chiara prospettiva e non perdano mai d’occhio lo scopo del loro compito. Perciò, seguite instancabilmente le Mie parole e la Mia Dottrina!

20. Sapete voi perché ora Io stesso vi comunico la Mia Volontà, mediante i Miei servitori e scrivani?

21. La ragione del perché già da molti anni le Mie comunicazioni dirette fluiscono più copiose che nei tempi passati, e perché Io vi do tanto Pane celeste come mai è avvenuto dal Mio cammino di vita terrena, è dovuto al fatto che proprio adesso si avvicina il momento in cui il mondo raggiungerà il suo punto culminante nelle aberrazioni e nelle deviazioni degli scopi della Mia Creazione. E affinché ora non siano perduti tutti gli uomini – tanto più che questo avrebbe per conseguenza il Mio ritorno – ho stabilito che d’ora in poi, ai singoli come un giorno ai Miei discepoli, debba pervenire la Mia Parola e la Mia Dottrina non falsificata, non velata, come nel caso dei profeti, bensì chiara e comprensibile come i Miei discepoli la insegnarono un giorno ai popoli.

22. In quel tempo era più difficile la diffusione della Dottrina; oggi invece, con la vostra invenzione dell’arte della stampa, la diffusione della Mia Dottrina sarà molto più facile, e ovunque, dove le tenebre del potere mondano vogliano farsi sentire, potrà penetrare il raggio della Mia eterna Luce d’Amore e di Grazia.

23. Io voglio adesso aprire gli occhi agli increduli, e spiegare il vero significato agli interpreti letterali della Mia Bibbia, in modo che nessuno possa scusarsi di non aver saputo nulla e, con questo pretesto, incolpare Me, quando invece tutta la colpa dovrà ricadere su lui stesso

24. Perciò siate forti, voi pochi che, dispersi in differenti province, serbate ancora le Mie perle nel vostro cuore! Confidate in Me! Io dimoro presso di voi e in voi; vi guiderò e non vi abbandonerò, finché Mi amerete e vi atterrete alla Mia Parola. A voi ho mostrato tutto chiaramente – il Mio Io, la Mia Creazione e il rapporto dell’uomo con entrambi – e con molte parole. Per voi non c’è nessuna scusa, come se non l’aveste saputo. Una cosa soltanto potrebbe ancora presso alcuni di voi verificarsi, ossia, che non afferriate la Mia parola nella massima profondità spirituale. Ma per questo, Io v’invierò il Mio Consolatore e Spirito Santo sotto forma di amare esperienze e dubbi, per allontanare anche questi ultimi lati oscuri dal cuore dei Miei devoti. Chi è chiamato, infatti, a operare un giorno sugli altri, costui dovrà essere saldo in se stesso e sapere esattamente cosa fare, e cosa non fare.

25. Le Mie parole sono semplici e chiare, ma non deve esserci in esse l’amor proprio degli interpreti e dei falsi commentatori, altrimenti, infatti, sarebbero scusate parecchie cose vostre, che presso di Me non possono essere scusate.

26. Perciò esaminatevi bene! Riflettete: Io non scherzo con voi, e non voglio nemmeno che voi trattiate solo occasionalmente con Me, proprio come vi fa comodo!

27. Seria è la vita, e sacra la Mia Causa! Dietro questa fugace, apparente vita terrena, c’è un’eterna, vera Vita, nella quale non può e non deve valere nessun sotterfugio, nessuna scusa; poiché è il Regno del vero Dio, il quale conosce solo una Verità, e l’Amore per questa Verità.

28. Perciò, applicatevi ad amarMi, e attenetevi alla Mia Parola! Con ciò procurerete a voi stessi il più grande dei servizi; con quest’amore, infatti, voi vi conquisterete la serena consapevolezza della nobile azione, e una migliore posizione e un più facile progresso nell’aldilà.

29. Io non sono un Giudice severo, non sono un Dio iracondo e nemmeno lo voglio essere. Io sono – come vi ho detto spesso – un Padre affezionato, un Pastore previdente che vorrebbe condurre le sue pecore su buoni pascoli, e lontano da quei luoghi dove dirupi o altri ostacoli potrebbero mettere a repentaglio la loro vita spirituale.

30. Io voglio solo il bene, perché sono la Bontà stessa! Io voglio solo l’Amore, perché sono l’Amore stesso, e voglio far di voi degli esseri spirituali superiori, poiché, quale sublime Essere spirituale Io stesso, vorrei avere attorno a Me solo figli simili, che rendano a Me e al Regno Mio, onore, e cerchino la loro pace e la loro gioia solamente in Me.

31. Questo testimonia la parola che Io espressi un giorno ai Miei discepoli: «Chi Mi ama osserverà la Mia Parola!».

32. Osservatela quindi, e rendetevi degni del Mio Amore, e la Parola nel Vangelo si compirà anche in voi! – Amen!
