23. Predigt von Jesus… Die geistige Heimat
(18.03.1872)

Johannes 16:5-6
“Nun aber gehe ich hin zu dem, der mich gesandt hat; und niemand unter euch fragt mich: Wo gehst du hin?, sondern weil ich solches zu euch geredet habe, ist euer Herz voll Trauerns worden.”

01. Seht, dies ist der Text für diesen Sonntag, und obwohl er dem Anscheine nach leicht verständlich ist, so liegt doch bei weitem viel Tieferes darin, als ihr ahnen möget.

02. Nach eurem Ermessen sage Ich diese Worte deshalb zu Meinen Jüngern, weil Ich – immer von Vater und Sohn sprechend – sie vorbereiten wollte auf die nächsten Ereignisse, die der Abschluß Meines irdischen Lebenswandels waren. Weil Ich ihnen Mein Verhältnis zu ihrem Jehova nicht anders begreiflich machen konnte, als unter dem Bild von Vater und Sohn, einem Bilde, das ihrem Weltverstand näher lag und auch in geistiger Entsprechung völlig das Verhältnis der Liebe zur Weisheit ausdrückt, wie Ich zwar als Weisheit Mensch geworden, aber als Liebe der ewige Erhalter und Schöpfer des ganzen Universums geblieben bin.

03. Ich sagte dort: “Ich gehe zu Dem, der Mich gesandt hat, und niemand fragt Mich: Wo gehst Du hin?, sondern nur Trauer befällt euch alle wegen des Gedankens, ihr könntet Mich verlieren.”

04. Diese unerwartete Voraussage, daß eine Trennung zwischen Mir und ihnen möglich sei, dieser Gedanke, der nicht in ihre Vorstellungen von Meiner Göttlichkeit und Meiner Mission paßte, versetzte sie in Trauer, und sie wußten daher auf dieses Wort weder zu antworten, noch eine Frage zu stellen. Deshalb eninnerte Ich sie mit einer solchen, indem Ich sagte, daß niemand Mich frage: “Wo gehst du hin?” dies war die Frage, die sie selbst nie dachten. Es war ihnen unglaublich, daß Ich Mich jemals von ihnen entfernen würde. Und wenn sie Mich als Gott annahmen, der herabstieg, um die Menschheit von den weltlichen Banden zu erlösen, wußten sie natürlich nicht, wohin Ich gehen sollte; denn obgleich sie durch den Einfluß Meiner Worte und Wunder die Überzeugung Meines göttlichen Ursprungs hatten, verkehrten sie doch viele geistigen Begriffe in weltliche Ideen. Daraus mußten natürlich falsche Schlüsse folgen, was sehr oft geschah, wenn sie Meine Bilder oder Meine Worte nicht verstanden und Mich beschuldigten, Ich rede hart oder unverständlich.

05. Ich sagte in jener Zeit: “Ich gehe zu Dem, der Mich gesandt hat!” Und jetzt, nach so vielen Jahrhunderten, richte Ich an euch und an die ganze Menschheit die Frage und sage: “Wo geht denn ihr hin, und wer hat euch denn gesandt?” Denn so wie Ich Meine Mission, Meinen Zweck oder ein ,Warum’ des Daseins habe, so haben es auch alle aus Mir geschaffenen Wesen, ja selbst die dichteste, rohe Materie, da auch sie als sichtbarer Ausdruck gebundener, gefesteter Geister eben ihren Zweck, ihre Mission haben muß.

06. Ich frage also jetzt, da die Prüfungszeit ihrem Ende naht, die Menschen durch politische, religiöse und Elementarereignisse: “Wo geht ihr hin?”, damit sie sich besinnen sollen, wer sie eigentlich sind, und warum sie eigentlich auf diese Erde gesandt oder gestellt wurden.

07. Der geistige Wind, der Meinem baldigen Kommen vorausgeht, um, wie im materiellen Leben, die Luft von schlechten Dünsten zu reinigen, regt wie die Frühlingslüfte alles zur Tätigkeit an. Überall ertönen die Fragen: “Warum bin ich eigentlich da?” und “Was bin ich eigentlich?” und “Was ist mein Endziel, oder wo gehe ich hin?”

08. Der denkende Mensch, welcher einmal von diesen Gedanken überrascht wurde, sieht sich natürlich zwischen zwei Welten gestellt, zwischen eine sicht und eine unsichtbare. Es genügen ihm die wenigen Anhaltspunkte, welche die Vergänglichkeit alles Geschaffenen bietet, nicht mehr, um ihm Trost und Ruhe zu bringen. Alles, was vor seinen Augen entsteht, sieht er wieder vergehen, sich verändern, sich verwandeln. Und eben diese Beispiele regen auch ihn an, an die vor ihm entstehenden und vergehenden Gegenstände, so wie an sich selbst, die Fragen zu richten: “Wo kommt ihr her, ihr Geschöpfe voller Wunder und Geheimnisse, und wo gehet ihr hin?”

09. So begrüßt er das Ankommende, und so fragt er das Scheidende; und eben diese Fragen ist er auch gezwungen an sich selbst zu richten, indem er selbst, wenn er nur ein bißchen nachdenkt, noch ein größeres, unauflösbareres Rätsel ist als alle anderen, vor ihm sichtbaren Dinge. Diese Fragen, die immer wieder auftauchen, sind es, welche die Menschen, oder wenigstens viele von ihnen, zur besseren Beurteilung des Bestehenden und des Angelernten zwingen. Und wo nicht genügend Wahres und Klares das Endresultat solcher Forschung ist, dort steigt natürlich das Heer der Zweifel auf, welche mit all dem Gefundenen nicht zufrieden, mehr Gewißheit, mehr Klarheit haben wollen.

10. Dieses Drängen war stets der Anfang von geistigen und weltlichen Umwälzungen. Es war der unvermeidliche geistige Wind, welcher die menschliche Natur stets wieder aufweckte, sooft sie sich gerade in einen bequemen Schlaf weltlicher Freuden und Genüsse versenken wollte.

11. Da nun zwei Dinge diesen Wind wieder erregten – erstens Mein baldiges Kommen als Ende und Krone Meiner einstigen, auf eurer Erde vollführten Mission. Zweitens die Neigung der ganzen Menschheit von oben bis unten, sich dem weltlichen Genusse hinzugeben und das Geistige zu verleugnen -, so ertönt wieder in allen Gemütern, den meisten unbewußt der Ruf: “Wo gehen wir hin?” und “Wozu sind wir da?” Die ungenügende Antwort, die die jetzige Geistesrichtung auf diese Fragen gibt, veranlaßt den Umsturz alles Bestehenden, das Sehnen nach Neuem, aber nicht Trügerischem sondern Wahrem.

12. Die Menschen empfinden, das unsichtbare Reich ist nicht abzuleugnen. Es ist umsonst, wenn manche Gelehrte sich die Mühe geben, zu beweisen, daß nur Materie bestehe und Geistiges nicht. Die Menschen fühlen die Leere in ihrem Herzen nicht ausgefüllt, soviel grobes Material durch den Verstand auch in jenes geworfen wird. Wie bei einem Faß ohne Boden verschwindet es, wie es gekommen ist, und die alte Frage steht wieder neu vor ihrem Geiste.

13. So wird die Menschheit gedrängt, endlich einmal alle Fesseln abzustreifen, sich von dem Gängelbande zu befreien, welches viele nur zu ihrem eigenen Vorteile benützen wollen.

14. Dieses Verhältnis, dieser Streit mußte Meinem Kommen vorangehen, damit Ich am Ende nur mit denen zu tun hatte, die das Geistige dem Materiellen vorzogen und auch wußten, woher sie kamen, warum sie da sind, und wohin sie zu gehen bestimmt sind.

15. Es werden das diejenigen sein, welche, alle Stürme überlebend, mitten im Schmutz des weltlichen Egoismus und Leichtsinns sich rein gehalten haben; denn nur für Liebe werde Ich der Hirte und nur sie werden Meine Schafe sein.

16. Auch an euch, Meine Kinder, die Ich unter so vielen auserkoren habe, damit ihr, geleitet durch Mein direktes Wort, den andern als Beispiel vorangehen sollt, auch an euch tritt diese Frage ernster Art heran. Auch an euch stellt; die Lebenszeit, welche euch noch auf Erden zu ermessen ist die Frage: “Wo gehst du hin?” Sie will damit sagen: Bedenket die Verantwortung, die ihr auf euch genommen habt, das Wort eures Gottes, eures Vaters hören zu wollen! Mit diesem Hören habt ihr euch der Verpflichtung unterzogen, dieses Wort auch auszuüben; denn ohne Ausübung ist das Hören zu nichts nütze.

17. Ihr, die ihr Mein Wort hört, erfahrt und nun auch wißt, wie man demselben nachkommen soll, ihr seid doppelt strafbar, wenn ihr die Ausübung unterlaßt.

18. Meiner Jünger Herz erfüllte sich mit Trauer, als Ich sprach von Meinem Hingange zu Dem, der Mich gesandt hatte. Welches Gefühl wird denn euch überkommen, wenn auch ihr hingehen müßt zu Dem, der euch gesandt hat? Trachtet darnach, daß ihr mit dem anvertrauten Kapital, wohl benutzt und verzinst, in Mein Reich zurückkehrt und nicht, wie der faule Knecht, euer Kapitel vergrabet; denn sonst kommt ihr unreif in einer Welt an, in der es euch selbst zur Last würde, als Unreife zwischen Gereiften, als Unglückliche zwischen Glücklichen leben zu müssen!

19. Wenn ihr hingehen müßt zu Dem, der euch gesandt hat, so trachtet doch wenigstens danach, mit dem Bewußtsein in jenes Geisterreich zu treten, alles getan zu haben, was gemäß allen an euch ergangenen Worten von euch zu erwarten war! Trachtet danach, Meine Worte und Meine Lehre so für euch und für andere zu nutzen, daß viele guten Taten und nur wenige Fehler eure Lebensbilanz ausmachen, damit ihr dann ruhig, fortschreiten und den Mitbruder, der euch fragt: “Wo gehst du hin?”, getrost nach dem Morgen des ewigen Liebelichts hinweisen könnt, indem ihr saget: “Ich gehe dorthin, von wannen ich gekommen bin, und wo ewiges geistiges Fortschreiten und stetes Annähern an meinen Schöpfer und Vater möglich ist!”

20. Auch Ich sagte: “Ich gehe zu Meinem Vater, der Mich gesandt hat!” Ich ging aber auch mit dem vollen Bewußtsein, Meine Mission im strengsten Sinne erfüllt zu haben, obwohl als Mensch das Herbste Mich noch erwartet. So sollt auch ihr einst sagen und euch schon jetzt des Triumphes freuen können, wenn nach ausgestandanen Kämpfen und besiegten Versuchungen ihr getrost die Hand nach der Siegespalme ausstrecken dürft.

21. Wer von Meinem Worte nur dunkle Begriffe hat oder gar nichts weiß, den kann Ich für seine Handlungen nicht so verantwortlich machen wie diejenigen, welche Meine Lehre kennen, welche begreifen, wie und wann sie nach derselben handeln müssen. Diese, wenn sie vorsätzlich dagegen sündigen, sind strafbar und werden – nicht von Mir, sondern von ihrem eigenen Gewissen – des Wankelmutes, der Kleinmütigkeit angeklagt werden, weil es ihnen so sehr an Kraft mangelt, und weil sie, mitten unter dem Einflusse geistiger Hilfe von oben, sich so ins Netz der weltlichen Genüsse verstricken ließen, daß sie darüber ihre geistige Würde eingebüßt haben.

22. Bedenket also alle Meine Worte! So angenehm das Anhören derselben auch sein mag, so nehmt sie doch recht ernst, da nur die Befolgung Meiner zwei einzigen Liebesgebote, im strengsten Sinne, euch zu Meinen, zu Kindern des Schöpfers der ganzen Unendlichkeit stempeln kann!

23. Den Preis, welchen Ich euch aussetzte, könnt ihr noch nicht im ganzen Sinn und in seiner ganzen Tiefe begreifen, weil ihr Mein Geisterreich nicht kennt; aber würdet ihr sehen, wie Engel und große Geister euch um diesen Vorzug beneiden, ihr würdet gewiß stolz darauf sein, von Dem ausgegangen zu sein und wieder zu Dem zurückkehren zu können, der die Liebe selbst ist, eine Liebe, die ein menschlich Herz aber nicht fassen kann.

24. Welch unfaßbare Liebe liegt darin, daß die höchste göttliche Liebe euch zu ihren Kindern machen will, daß diese Liebe den niedrigsten Stand auf eurer Erde vorgezogen hat, um eben das zu beweisen, was sie als Jesus einst sagte, – daß sie als Weisheit, nach vollendeter Mission, sich wieder vereinen will mit der Liebe, von welcher sie ausgegangen ist, und zu welcher auch ihr kommen könnt, wenn ihr euch derselben würdig zu machen wisset!

25. Ich ging einst zu Meinem Vater, der Mich gesandt hat; trachtet auch ihr, dahin zu gelangen, um aus Seinen Händen die Siegeskrone für eure Kämpfe und Leiden zu erhalten – wie Ich einst als Gottmensch und Jesus vor mehr als tausend Jahren! Amen.

23rd Sermon of Jesus… The spiritual Homeland
(March 18, 1872)

John 16:5-6
“But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.”

Behold, this is the text for this particular Sunday and although it appears to be easy to understand, it contains far more than you suspect.

You believe that I say these words to My disciples – always speaking of Father and Son – in order to prepare them for the events that were close at hand, which events were the completion of My life on earth. I could explain to them My relationship with their Jehovah only as that of a father and son, a metaphor comprehensible to their worldly thinking and in its spiritual correspondence fully expressing the relationship between love and wisdom, since I as Wisdom became a man but as Love remained the eternal Preserver and Creator of the entire universe.

I said to them: “I go My way to Him that sent Me and none of you asketh Me, whither goest thou? But only sorrow hath filled your hearts because of the thought you might lose Me.”

This unexpected prediction that a separation between Me and them might be possible, this thought that did not fit into their idea of My deity and My mission, made them sad and so they found no answer to these words nor did they know what to ask. Therefore I reminded them of this, saying that nobody asked Me: “Where are you going?” This was the question they did not think of. They could not imagine that I could ever leave them. And if they did believe in Me as God who had come to the world in order to liberate mankind from its worldly fetters, they, of course, did not know where I was to go. For, although influenced by My words and miracles they were convinced of My divine origin, they still converted many spiritual concepts into worldly ideas. As a result, there would follow false conclusions, which happened often when they did not comprehend My metaphors or My words and accused Me of speaking harshly or incomprehensibly.

I said at that time: “I go to Him that sent Me!” And now, after so many centuries have passed, I put the question to you and all mankind: “Where do you go. and who has sent you?” For, just as I have My mission, My aim or a “Why” of My existence, so have all the beings created out of Me, even the most solid and gross matter, since this, as the visible expression of bound and hardened spirits, must have its purpose, its mission.

Therefore, now that the trial period is approaching its end, I am asking people through political, religious and elementary events: “Where are you going?”, so that they may remember who they actually are and why they were sent to this earth.
The spiritual wind preceding My coming in order to clean the air from miasmas, stimulates activity in everything as the gentle breezes of spring act in material life. Everywhere the questions are heard: “Why am I actually here?”, “What am I actually?” and “What is my final destination, or where am I going?”

Once taken unawares by such thoughts, the thinking person will, of course, find himself placed between two worlds, a visible and an invisible one. He will no longer be satisfied with the few clues offered by the transitoriness of all created things, to give him comfort and peace of mind. Everything that comes into existence before his eyes, he sees again passing away, changing. And these examples make him ask the things he sees arising and passing away before his eyes, as well as himself: “Whence are you, all you wondrous and mysterious created beings, and whither do you go?”

Thus he greets that which is arriving and thus he asks the departing. And he is also compelled to ask himself the same questions, since he, himself, if only he devotes some thought to this, is an even greater and more complex enigma than all the other visible things. These questions, which keep emerging time and time again, do compel people, or at least many of them, to a better judgment regarding the existing things and what they have acquired by study. And where the final results of such exploration do not offer sufficient truth and clarity, many doubts arise that, not satisfied with the results, demand more certainty, more clarity.

This striving has always been the beginning of spiritual and worldly revolutions. It is the inevitable spiritual wind, which keeps awakening human nature every time it is on the verge for sinking into a comfortable sleep of worldly pleasure.
Two things have once again stirred up this wind: Firstly, My coming in the near future as the completion and crowning of the mission I once carried out on your earth; and, secondly, all mankind’s propensity – from the highest to the lowest – to indulge in worldly pleasures and disavow the spiritual. And the call is once more sounded in all minds, of which many are unaware: “Whither are we going?” and “Why are we here?” It is the unsatisfactory answer the present spiritual trend is giving to this question that causes the overthrow of all established things, the yearning for something new; not illusions, however, but the truth.

People feel that the invisible realm cannot be denied. Some scholars’ efforts to prove that there is only matter and the spiritual does not exist, are in vain. People feel that the emptiness in their hearts is not being filled by all the gross material thrown into them by the intellect. It vanishes as in a bottomless barrel, and the old question is facing them again.
Thus mankind is compelled to free itself at last from its shackles, from the leading-string which many are inclined to use only for their own advantage.

This situation, this conflict, had to precede My coming, so that in the end I would have to deal only with those who preferred the spiritual to the material and know whence they have come, why they are here and whither they are destined to go. These will be the ones that, surviving all storms, will have kept themselves pure in the filth of worldly egoism and thoughtlessness. For these alone I shall be the shepherd and they shall be My sheep.

This very serious question is also put to you, My children, whom among so many I chose that you may – guided by My direct communication – lead the way as an example also for others. The lifespan that is still allowed you on this earth is posing this question to you: “Where are you going?” This means: Remember the responsibility you have taken upon yourselves by wishing to hear the Word of God, your Father. Through this listening you have also accepted the obligation to practise this teaching, for, hearing but not practising it is quite useless.

You, who hear My Word, have been taught and are aware how it is to be followed; you are twice as culpable if you fail to practise it.

My disciples’ hearts filled with sadness as I spoke about My departure to Him Who had sent Me. How will you be feeling when you have to go to Him Who sent you? Make sure that you return to My Kingdom having well used and invested the entrusted capital and do not bury it like the lazy servant. Otherwise, you will be arriving immature in a world where you would find it a burden to live as immature among the mature and as unhappy among the happy.

When you have to go to Him Who sent you, be sure to enter that spirit-realm at least with the conviction to have done all that could be expected of you considering all the knowledge you received. Strive to use My words and My teaching in such a way for yourselves and others that the balance of your life will show many good deeds and only few mistakes. Then you will be able to proceed peacefully and, when asked by your brother: “Where are you going?”, point to the morning of the eternal love-light, saying: “I am going whence I have come and where an eternal spiritual progression and drawing ever closer to my Creator and Father is possible!”

I also said: “I go to My Father Who sent me!” But I went fully convinced that I had fulfilled My mission in every respect, although as a man the hardest part was still awaiting Me. You, too, should one day be able to say the same and already now look forward to the triumph when, after struggles and conquered temptations, you may confidently stretch out your hand for the palm of victory.

Those who have only vague concepts or no knowledge at all of My Word, I cannot make as much responsible for their actions as those who know My teaching and understand how and when they have to act in accordance with it. When they intentionally sin against it, they deserve punishment and will be accused – not by Me, but by their own conscience – of fickleness and faint-heartedness because of their great lack of strength and because they, notwithstanding all the aid from above, let themselves be ensnared in the net of worldly pleasures to such an extent that they lost their spiritual dignity.

Therefore, do heed My words! Pleasant as it may be just to hear them, do take them very seriously, for only the strictest observance of My two sole commandments of love can make you children of the Creator of all infinity, My children.
You are not yet able to comprehend in its full significance and depth the prize I am offering you since you do not know My spiritual kingdom. However, if you could see how angels and great spirits envy you this privilege, you would be proud of the fact to have come from Him and be able to again return to Him Who is the essence of love, a love a human heart cannot comprehend.

What inconceivable love reveals itself in the fact that Supreme Divine Love wants to make you Its children, that this Love chose the lowest status on your earth in order to prove, as Jesus once said, – that after the accomplished mission It would as Wisdom reunite with Love, out of which It originated, and where also you could come if you made yourselves worthy of It!
I once returned to My Father Who had sent Me. Also you should strive to reach that destination to receive from His hand the crown of victory for all your struggles and suffering -as I did almost two thousand years ago as Jesus. Amen.

Predica 23… La domanda riguardo all’eterna Patria

Giovanni 16:5-6…
«Ora però vado da colui che mi ha mandato; e nessuno di voi mi domanda: ‘Dove vai?’, – ma perché vi ho detto questo, il vostro cuore è pieno di mestizia.»

(Il 18 marzo 1872)

1. Vedete, questo è il testo per questa domenica, e sebbene all’apparenza sembri facile da capire, in esso vi è un senso più profondo di quanto voi possiate immaginare.

2. Secondo quanto potete giudicare, Io espressi queste parole ai Miei discepoli per questa ragione, perché – sempre parlando del Padre e del Figlio – volevo prepararli ai prossimi avvenimenti che sarebbero stati la conclusione del Mio cammino di vita terrena. Non potevo, infatti, far comprendere il Mio rapporto con il loro Jehova, che sotto l’immagine del Padre e del Figlio, un’immagine che stava più vicina al loro intelletto mondano, ed esprimeva totalmente anche nella rispondenza spirituale il rapporto dell’Amore con la Sapienza, come Io – precisamente quale Sapienza, – divenni uomo, restando però, quale Amore, l’eterno Conservatore e Creatore dell’intero Universo.

3. Là, Io dissi: «Vado a Colui che Mi ha mandato; e nessuno di voi Mi domanda: dove vai?, bensì solo mestizia vi assale, a causa del pensiero che potreste perderMi».

4. Quest’inattesa predizione, che fosse possibile una separazione tra Me e loro, questo pensiero, che non si accordava ai loro concetti della Mia Divinità e della Mia Missione, li mise nella tristezza, e perciò essi non seppero né rispondere a queste parole, né porre una domanda. Per questo Io glielo ricordai, dicendo che nessuno aveva voluto domandarMi: «Dove vai?». Era questa la domanda alla quale loro stessi, mai avrebbero pensato; né che Io potessi mai allontanarMi da loro. E se anche Mi avevano accolto come Dio, sceso per liberare l’umanità dai legami del mondo, essi non sapevano dove Io dovevo andare; e se, pur con l’influenza delle Mie parole e dei miracoli, avevano la convinzione della Mia origine divina, essi travisarono nondimeno molti concetti spirituali con idee mondane. Da ciò naturalmente dovevano seguire false conclusioni, cosa che accadde molto spesso, quando essi non comprendevano le Mie parabole, o le Mie parole, e Mi accusavano di parlare in modo duro o incomprensibile.

5. In quel tempo dissi: «Vado a Colui che Mi ha mandato!». E ora, dopo così tanti secoli, rivolgo a voi e a tutta l’umanità, la stessa domanda: “Dove andate voi?”, e: “Chi vi ha mandato?”. Poiché così come Io ho la Mia Missione, i Miei scopi, o un perché dell’esistenza, così l’hanno anche tutti gli esseri da Me creati, anzi perfino la più densa, rozza materia; anch’essa, infatti, quale espressione visibile del vincolato, solidificato spirito, deve avere precisamente il suo scopo e la sua missione.

6. Ora Io domando quindi, poiché il periodo di prova attraverso avvenimenti politici, religiosi ed elementari si avvicina alla sua fine: “Dove andate voi?”, affinché gli uomini si ricordino chi sono essi veramente, e perché veramente furono inviati, o messi su questa Terra.

7. Il vento spirituale che precede la Mia prossima venuta per purificare, come nella vita materiale, l’aria dalle cattive esalazioni, stimola ogni cosa all’attività, come l’aria primaverile. Dappertutto risuonano le domande: “Perché sono io veramente qui?”, e: “Chi sono effettivamente?”, e: “Qual è la mia meta finale?”, oppure: “Dove vado io?”.

8. L’uomo pensante, il quale viene anche solo una volta sorpreso da questi pensieri, si vede naturalmente messo tra due mondi, uno visibile e uno invisibile. Per trovare conforto e quiete, non gli bastano più i pochi punti di riferimento che la transitorietà di ogni cosa creata offre. Tutto ciò che emerge davanti ai suoi occhi, egli lo vede e di nuovo passa, si modifica e si trasforma. E proprio questi esempi lo incitano anche a rivolgere la domanda agli oggetti che sorgono e svaniscono dinanzi a lui, come a se stesso: “Da dove venite, voi creature piene di meraviglie e di misteri?”, e: “Dove andate?”.

9. Così egli saluta ciò che è in arrivo, e interroga ciò che se ne va; e proprio queste domande è anche costretto a fare a se stesso, essendo egli, se solo riflette un poco, un grande, insolubile mistero, ancor più che tutte le altre cose a lui visibili. Sono queste le domande che sempre riemergono, e che costringono gli uomini, o perlomeno molti di loro, al migliore giudizio di ciò che esiste e di ciò che si può acquisire con lo studio. E dove il risultato finale di tali ricerche non fornisce sufficiente verità e chiarezza, lì sorge naturalmente un esercito di dubbi che, pur con tutto il trovato, non soddisfano, vogliono avere maggior certezza, maggior chiarezza.

10. Quest’impulso fu sempre l’inizio di sconvolgimenti spirituali e terreni. Fu il vento spirituale inevitabile che ha sempre risvegliato la natura umana, ogni qual volta essa voleva sprofondare in un confortevole sonno di gioie e di piaceri mondani.

11. Qui due cose ora agitano di nuovo questo vento: in primo luogo la Mia prossima venuta, quale conclusione e coronamento della Mia missione compiuta in passato sulla vostra Terra. In secondo luogo, l’inclinazione di tutta l’umanità, ad abbandonarsi da cima a fondo ai piaceri mondani e a rinnegare lo Spirito. – Così risuona di nuovo il richiamo in tutti gli animi, per la maggior parte inconsciamente: “Dove andiamo?”, e: “Perché siamo qui?”. E la risposta insufficiente che dà l’attuale indirizzo spirituale a queste domande provoca il crollo di tutto l’esistente, il desiderio per il nuovo, ma non menzognero, bensì vero.

12. È inutile che certi scienziati si sforzino di dimostrare che esiste solo materia, e non spirito! Gli uomini percepiscono che l’invisibile Regno non può essere contestato; sentono nel loro cuore il vuoto non colmato, per quanto, attraverso l’intelletto, vi si getti molto materiale grezzo. Come in una botte senza fondo, esso scompare com’è venuto, e la vecchia domanda si ripresenta davanti al loro spirito.

13. Così l’umanità è pressata alla fine a togliersi tutte le catene, a liberarsi dal laccio che molti vogliono utilizzare solo per i propri vantaggi.

14. Questa situazione, questa disputa, dovrà precedere la Mia Venuta, affinché Io alla fine abbia a che fare solo con quelli che hanno preferito lo spirituale al materiale, e sanno anche da dove vengono, perché sono qui, e dove sono destinati ad andare.

15. Questi saranno coloro che, sopravvivendo a tutte le tempeste, si sono mantenuti puri in mezzo al sudiciume dell’egoismo e alle leggerezze mondane; solo per questi, infatti, Io sarò il Pastore, e solo questi saranno le Mie pecorelle.

16. Anche a voi, figli Miei, che Io ho prescelto tra molti, affinché, guidati dalla Mia Parola diretta, abbiate a precedere gli altri ed essere loro d’esempio, anche a voi dovete rivolgere questa importante domanda. Anche a voi, il tempo di vita che vi è ancora assegnato sulla Terra, pone lo stesso richiamo: ‘Dove vai?’. E ciò vuol significare: riflettete sulla responsabilità che avete preso su di voi, nel voler ascoltare la Parola del vostro Dio, del Padre vostro! Con quest’ascolto vi siete presi l’impegno anche di praticare questa Parola, poiché senza la pratica, l’ascolto non serve a nulla!

17. Voi, che ascoltate la Mia Parola, sperimentate, e ora anche sapete, come si deve seguire la stessa, voi siete doppiamente punibili, se trascurate la pratica.

18. Il cuore dei Miei discepoli si riempì di tristezza quando Io parlai della Mia dipartita a Colui che Mi aveva mandato. Quale sentimento vi coglierebbe, infatti, se anche voi doveste andare da Colui che vi ha mandato? Aspirate quindi a ritornare nel Mio Regno con il capitale affidatovi, ben impiegato e fatto fruttare, e non sotterratelo come il servo pigro; altrimenti giungerete immaturi in un mondo che vi sarebbe di peso, dovendo voi stessi vivere da immaturi tra maturi, da infelici tra felici!

19. Se voi dovete andare da Colui che vi ha mandato, aspirate perlomeno ad entrare nel Regno dello spirito con la consapevolezza di aver fatto tutto ciò che c’era da aspettarsi da voi, secondo tutte le parole a voi inviate! Aspirate a utilizzare le Mie Parole e la Mia Dottrina per voi e per gli altri, così che molte buone opere – e solo poche macchie – stabiliscano la vostra bilancia della vita, in modo che poi possiate procedere tranquilli; e al prossimo che vi domanda: “Dove vai?”, possiate senza timore indicare il mattino dell’eterna Luce dell’Amore, dicendo: “Vado lì da dove sono venuto, e dove è possibile l’eterno progresso spirituale e un costante avvicinamento al mio Creatore e Padre!”.

20. Anch’Io dissi: «Vado al Padre Mio che Mi ha mandato!». Io però vi andai con la piena consapevolezza di aver compiuto la Mia Missione nel senso più stretto, sebbene come Uomo Mi attendesse ancora il più amaro. Così anche voi lo dovrete dire un giorno, e già adesso rallegratevi del trionfo, quando, dopo le lotte superate e le tentazioni vinte, fiduciosi, tenderete la mano alla palma della vittoria.

21. Chi ha soltanto un oscuro concetto delle Mie Parole, o non ne sa nulla, Io non posso renderlo responsabile per le sue azioni, così come coloro che conoscono la Mia Dottrina e comprendono come e quando agire secondo la stessa. Costoro, se peccano deliberatamente, sono punibili, e saranno accusati – non da Me, ma dalla loro stessa coscienza – di incostanza e di pusillanimità, giacché mancò loro la forza, e, pur trovandosi in mezzo all’influsso dell’aiuto spirituale dall’alto, si lasciarono impigliare nella rete dei piaceri mondani al punto da perdere la loro dignità spirituale.

22. Riflettete quindi su tutte le Mie Parole! Anche se l’ascolto può essere accolto, prendetele assai seriamente, poiché solo l’osservanza dei Miei due unici comandamenti dell’Amore, nel senso più stretto, può impersonarvi quali Miei figli, figli del Creatore dell’intera infinità!

23. Il premio che Io vi ho preparato, non potete ancora comprenderlo nel senso vero e proprio e in tutta la sua profondità, perché voi non conoscete il Mio Regno dello spirito; ma se voi vedeste come gli angeli e i grandi spiriti vi invidiano per questo privilegio, sareste certamente orgogliosi di provenire da Colui, e poter di nuovo ritornare a Colui che è l’Amore stesso, un Amore però che un cuore umano non può concepire.

24. Quale Amore inafferrabile si trova nel fatto che il sublime Amore divino voglia fare di voi, i figli Suoi! Che quest’Amore abbia preferito la condizione più umile sulla vostra Terra, per dimostrare proprio ciò che disse un giorno, quale Gesù, che Egli, quale Sapienza, a missione compiuta, si sarebbe di nuovo riunito all’Amore da cui proveniva, e al quale potrete riunirvi anche voi, se saprete rendervi degni dello stesso!

25. Io andai un giorno al Padre Mio che Mi aveva mandato! Aspirate anche voi a giungervi, per ricevere dalle Sue mani la corona della vittoria per le vostre lotte e sofferenze, – come Io, quale Uomo-Dio e Gesù, più di mille anni fa! – Amen!

約翰福音16：5-6

“但現在我走向那差我來的路。沒有人問我，你去哪裡？但是因為我已經向你們說過這些事情，所以悲傷充滿了你的心。“

看哪，這是這個特定星期日的文本，雖然它看起來很容易理解，但它包含的遠遠超過你的懷疑。

一旦無意識註意到這些想法，思想者會當然發現自己置於兩個世界之間，一個可見的和一個看不見的世界。他將不再滿足於所有創造事物轉瞬即逝的少數線索，讓他感到安慰和安心。在他眼前出現的一切，他再次看到逝去，變化。這些例子讓他問他在眼前和他自己看到的事物：“你是哪里人，你所有的奇妙和神秘的創造物，你到哪裡去？”

因此他問候那到達的東西，因此他問離開的。而且他也不得不問自己同樣的問題，因為如果他只是對這個問題進行一些思考，他自己就是一個比所有其他可見的事物都要更大更複雜的謎團。這些不斷出現的問題迫使人們，或者至少其中許多人對現有事物和他們通過學習獲得的東西做出更好的判斷。如果這種探索的最終結果不能提供足夠的真實性和清晰度，會出現許多疑惑，對結果不滿意，需要更多的確定性，更清晰。

這種奮鬥一直是精神和世俗革命的開始。這是不可避免的精神之風，每當人類陷入瀕臨世俗享受的舒適睡眠時，它都會喚醒人類的本性。
